Flood blackscreens in WinUAE 2.40+

As the topic says.
Every time I reach the second level of Flood the game goes to a blackscreen within 10 seconds.
I've tried three different ADF's of Flood, standard A500 config, in WinUAE 2.40 plus 2.41 Beta's 11 and 12 and the same crash always occurs.
Any advice or information?

Do you mean it works with 2.3.3?
This feels more like a bad crack than emulation problem.
I can check it if you attach statefile just before (few seconds) it goes black screen.

Hope I've done this correctly.
The ADF I'm using is the Flintbuster release but I've experienced the same crash in the Scoopex release as well.
This save file is from WinUAE 2.40.
Thanks for the amazingly quick reply btw!

I can't duplicate any black screen. I loaded attached statefile (A500 quickstart setting, 2.4.0 and latest 2.4.1 beta) and it seems to play fine, until it hangs when it tries to access disk when entering 3rd "portal".

Very strange.
Thank you for looking into it so quickly.
I'll play around with some other adf's of Flood and different WinUAE versions.

Save another statefile after blank screen has happened. Perhaps it helps to find the problem.

Here we go.
This save was done on WinUae 2.40 with the Scoopex release of Flood after the black screen occurs on the 2nd level.

I did some test using Flood (1990)(Electronic Arts)[cr Angels][t +3 Angels].zip

Fade to black and some disk access before it hangs happens randomly, usually it happens in first level, sometimes after second level. My guess is that it is part of disabled copy protection that triggers for some unknown reason.

I can also duplicate it using 2.3.3.

Thanks for looking into it Toni.
I just experienced the same crash on 2.2.0.
So weird I'm sure I remember being able to play it without crashing yeeeeaaarrrs ago and by years I'm taking before WinUAE hit 1.0! :-)

Just played via standard A500 cycle exact using this version

Flood (1990)(Electronic Arts)(M4)[cr SCX].adf

And got to level 4 with no problems.

I got to level 4 using the same adf and cycle exact on B13 and then it crashed.
Reset, tried again and it crashed on level 2.
Bizarre.

I tested original ipf version of Flood (few times needed to guess the copy protection question..), first test: black screen in second level, second test: fourth level.

It seems game thinks that level ended, fades to black and starts loading next level but after loading finished, it never returns original colors. Game is still running.

The plot thickens!
Using WinUAE 1.6.0 with standard A500 config, cycle exact and the Flood (1990)(Electronic Arts)(M4)[cr SCX].adf I made it to Level 7 without a crash.
