Another modded a1200
Nothing to do with me, but I thought there may be some interest:
http://home.twcny.rr.com/wicksall/1200CDMod.html oh, & something I'm up to: http://www.aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=3356 Oops, showing my roots now. The shame of it! Still, there's a bit more room inside one of these than an a1200. Last edited by Charlie; 11 April 2007 at 00:29. |

Long time no see my friend.. I have seen that CD mod before and soed the seeds of inspiration to eventually do this. http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=27727 I am absolutley loving the Archemdies mod! awsome idea. if you are interested into an identical factor for keyboard DELL make one that would slip right in, its pretty much Bang on! heres a small pic you might have to remove a key from either side of the space bar but who needs a windows and right mouse key? (just nips off to get the part no.) DELL AT102W FCC ID: GYUM92SK P/N 95250 S/N M9607 - 12764 a dude is selling one on ebay nice chunky keys like the archie too anyways my friend a coolious project indeed!!! |

@Zetr0:
Yup - been more of a reader than a poster - none of my current hardware is able to run Amithlon. ( I don't suppose you know of some simple directions to achieve something similar with a stripped-out linux & E-UAE? ) Also been doing a fair bit of Oolite stuff. So that's where you got some of the inspiration for you excellent a600, glad you like my A3000. I didn't post directly here, as it's a 'rival' box... Mind you once it's up & running I'll post some piccies of it running UAE for annoyance value. Obviously much more to be done - Thanks for the link & part numbers, I've got a Cherry keyboard on order that I hope will fit. My intention was use to original keyboard & swap the membrane with a modern USB one, but for the mo' I can't find a suitable one to butcher. ( needs to be a small enter-key layout ) For now I think I'll just dye the Cherry function keys, er cherry-coloured. The really tricky bit has been finding an appropriate AGP riser - nearly put an end to the project. Once I've finished I'll probably post a list of helpful suppliers. This would have been sooooo much easier if I'd gone Mini-ITX, or at least an IGP board, but I wanted something that would cope with modern software. ( Oh & I'm cheap & had too much old hardware hanging about in need of recycling! ) Kind Regards. Last edited by Charlie; 11 April 2007 at 19:36. |
