A4000T PSU - Hope someone can help
Hello all, I'm new here so just a quick intro.
Have owned Amigas since 198x (A500) - then bought an A3000T in 1990 (ish - from memory) which I later sold for a pittance thinking I was upgrading when I bought an A4000D.....god mistake. IDE access was horrible. Whats worse is I know the 3000T is in someones loft and has never been switched on since I sold it to the guy (friend of my dad's). Tried to buy it back but alas....he wants to keep it - I even tried to warn him the battery will probably have had fun with his motherboard to no avail. Anyway, for many years despite my interest remaining (I have regularly kept up to date, waiting for the next generation), my Amigas have remained dormant and I have just bought I new one which I am excited about receiving. Its an A4000T Toaster Flyer system with Cyberstorm MK2 and Cybergraphx 643d and plenty of other interesting stuff including the toaster and flyer cards....cant wait if I am honest. Only thing is its from the US and my question here pertains to the PSU. I know I could just use a stepdown but would rather replace the PSU. What kind of PSU can I use - does a standard AT or ATX type fit, any amendments or adapters required? I have read a lot including that the 4000T has a different PSU and coupler than the 4000D so am more than a little concerned about having a frying tonight special when it arrives in about 2 weeks. Thanks, in advance, for anyhelp. |

Check my thread on Amiga.org
http://www.amiga.org/modules/newbb/v...orumpost419618 Does your PSU have the voltage switch like mine (it was standard on my PSU)? Should be a little red tab between the power socket and monitor power socket on the PSU. If not, you can get an AT PSU from the computer fair at Tottenham court road for about £6. I bought a spare from there and I know they work because I tested it. |

Hi - and thanks both for the replies - I will check the PSU when the unit arrives, just remember my A4000D NOT having a switch but it will be great if this one does!
Thanks for the help |

While you're at it, check the PSU P8 and P9 connectors for burn marks.
