I thought CCS64 was the most accurate? Anyway it matters not, since all these emulators are great. You can't go wrong with which ever one you choose.

Now I am intrigued about this one.

And it actually is! Beats VICE by far! CCS64 is pretty good as well.

You're not the only one. Micro64 is written in Free Pascal and BeRo (the author) has been described as an "open-source guy" so I'm hoping the code is made available so I can port it to OS X. My fingers are crossed.

As for where to get 64 games, the first place everyone should look is in the GameBase64. If it isn't there, it isn't anywhere.

Sorry to disappoint you but Micro64 won't be open source. There are many ports (MAC OS too) planned though.

Well you actually don't get any games there (the only link there for games is not accessable ). Stick to PlanetEmu for games

Of course you can get games there. Click on "latif" (bottom right) for downloads.

Well, some games like Boulder Dash are removed to avoid copyrights troubles, but you can download over 90% of the GBC collection there.

btw: The GBC collection includes only the best working versions available, no need to test this unverified TOSEC stuff from Planetemu.

If there will be an OS X version I'm not disappointed.

(For the record, it was Jens Schoenfeld who told me it would probably be released as open source and I figured he was a reliable source which is why I repeated the speculation.)

Which game were you attempting to download? As Retro-Nerd pointed out, most games are available for download via the partnership with Latif. I'm also willing to provide the entire GB64 on DVD to anyone that wants it for the cost of a DVD and postage although it's quicker and easier to grab it with Bittorrent.

If you click on the Latif link on the GB64 download page the error posted above occurs That was what I meant with 'not accessable'. Maybe it's just me who can't get to the page

The New PAL emulation in Vice 2.0 is painful slow.

And the only 100% smooth running Windows version is still the modified v1.20. I wonder if they ever try to fix this annoying tearing.

Take everything Mr.Schönfeld tells you with a grain of salt. He once even claimed that the 68060 cpu lacks the movem instruction. Also, as far as I know, due to information BeRo got from Schönfeld&Co. he had to promise to not make the code public.

I played some C64 games and didn't have much problem with WinVice. How many games will not run in that emulator?? (I didn't find one yet)

I'm not sure what users find helpful on CCS64, I personally dislike it being shareware. (someone pointed easy to use, which is just the same as WinVice)

Why? CCS64 isn't limited in the free version. There are some special features for registered users, but honestly i don't know which. I don't miss anything and the 1541 emulation seems to be much more compatible.
