The Problem is, that there are some different versions of the OS 3.9 CD! The solution s that you have to copy manually the file icon.library from os3.9:wb3.5/libs to the system/libs folder of amigasys! After that you can start the preinstall of AmigaOS 3.9

How long do you guys intend continuing AmigaSYS development? What Ideas do you have for the future?
It seems a very active project and improving all the time! |

I am full of praise for Amistart, and it's author Darius Brewka. It does not include a terribly good default configuration, but after spending a while to learn the interface, one can become reasonably efficient at adding new entries.
I certainly recommend integrating Amistart - the positive feedback from those using the latest AIAB has been most encouraging. Furthermore, as the 'standard' Amiga interface homogenises, and the various UAE/Workbench distributions gradually share the same software/configuration, new Amiga users should feel tempted to come 'on-board. This can only be a good thing!. |

I agree with Akira about the font, too heavy and Atari-like. Would be more neutral with a Sans Serif type font. It was very interesting to see that one setup was run on a ´040, is that true?

Dary, rather than bumping your own thread, please allow me to help you keep this post at the top of the forum by offering my predictions/suggestions for UI improvements in AmigaSYS v3:
- Use Scalos as a Workbench replacement - Use PNG icons - Integrate AmiStart - Integrate VisualPrefs + custom gadget/Birdie theme - Use a smaller, more attractive screen/icon font (probably TT fonts?) Cheers, James |

i think this programs and tools make AmigaSYS more beautyful but they are braking it too! Only Scalos has a little chance to be placed in AmigaSYS 3.
If the user like these kind of programs they can install it manually! |

Lol, I was pulling your leg about AmigaSys v3 by the way... at this rate you'll be ahead of AIAB (in terms of version numbers, at least...) before Christmas!
Regardless, good to see you've bitten the bullet and bundled Amistart in there - even if I recall reading that start-menu programs had no place on Amiga systems Take it easy, James |

Amistart will not start automatically, the user have to activate it during the install.
