Cody's Musically Magnificent Amiga Top 50 (Entries 30->21)
And we enter the third decade of the Top 50 Amiga tunes...
Position: 30 Game: Resolution 101 Musician: Jason Brooke Publisher/Developer: Millennium/Astral UnExotica Link: http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/unexotic...ution_101.html Okay, at first this doesn't sound like a Top 50 tune. Admittedly it does sound like some sort of weird music from an Austin Power movie, but listen to it all and you'll hear a cool melody about 44 seconds into the jcb.Resolution_101 mod. A deceptively addictive tune! |

Just to let you know, UnExoticA had a bit of an upgrade earlier.
Check out the index's and cross referencing. Publishers/Teams/Years are now all linked and also, reverse sorting for Composers and other things. More information about changes on the ExoticA Forum |

Thanks for the info BuZz!
Position: 29 Game: Ghouls 'n' Ghosts Musician: Tim Follin Publisher/Developer: US Gold/Software Creations UnExotica Link: http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/unexotic..._n_Ghosts.html The music in Ghouls 'n' Ghosts has a real sense of its medieval setting. tf.level1_&_5 is very sombre; as if you are in a dark castle. tf.level_2 is jolly; like a medieval hike on a horse! tf.level_3 is a more modern tune. The best is undoubtedly tf.title, a mixture of medieval pipes and modern rock instruments. Also see tf.continue_&_message, a short-but-sweet pipe arrangement. |

I could be mistaken about this one, but can anyone confirm what differences there were sonically between the double disk version of Ghouls'n'Ghosts & the single disk version?
I originaly had a 2 disk version of Ghouls, (part of 1 compilation), but had to return it. Some time later I got a different compilation which only had a 1 disk version of Ghouls. I'm quite sure this 1 disk release had less musical tracks than the 2 disk version. |

A good example of a game I boot up to hear the music only. Pathetic ST shovelware with brilliant Tim Follin music. One of my fave Amiga soundtracks.

So this'd be nr. 1 on your top50 Akira?
Or if not, how far from the C64 version of Golden axe? |

The C64 version of thsi tune is pretty damn nice too but it's completely different. I like both the Amiga and C64 versions. I can't compare this to C64 Golden Axe relly. |

You'd have to if you were to rank them.

But I don't have as much free time as Cody, so I cannot embark on such tasks

Game: Statix Musician: Jochen Feldkoetter/Gustaf Grefberg/Thomas Einweg Publisher/Developer: 7th Sign UnExotica Link: http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/unexotica/games/Statix.html Mmmm, mellow music! mod.against time is the mellowest. mod.g.gates and mod.g.rigit are pretty mellow too. This sort of music aids the mental process - always useful in a puzzle game. |

Game: Agony Musician: Lots! Publisher/Developer: Psygnosis/Art & Magic UnExotica Link: http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/unexotica/games/Agony.html Tim Wright's mod.mod.agony intro is the real stand-out here - a beautiful piano piece. Interestingly, this mod was ripped off by a metal band called Dimmu Borgir! See the UnExoticA link for more info. mod.agony high score is a similar mod to the intro one - quite a nice one too. |

I liked Agony's music. So, did Ooops Up make your list?

No, but the music is good in both Ooops Up and The Power. Not really original Amiga music, though!

Beast, Turrican, Apidya - yes, but the others - no.
I'll include notable missing ones at the end... |

Are Monkey Island 1/2 in the list? I assume they'll make the top 10!
