I dunno... cramming a 3.5" drive into the 2.5" space must be hard

You guys

I bought four CF adaptors at once because they were cheap (PM sent to BW).

The roms were taken out of another 1200 previously because of a conflict with my apollo040 and WHDLoad.

The 3.5" harddrive was actually screwed onto the back of the lower case but the numpty had screwed it ontop of the keyboard ribbbon so I couldn't lift the top cover more than half an inch... ripppp... job done!!

So any advice on getting the keyboard to work?

Many thanks fellas

Didn't you also see the hole cut in the plastic in the opening post's pics? The conversion also included a gaping hole at the back of the A1200.

I managed to fit a 3.5" drive easily into my A1200. All I had to do was cut a small piece of the metal shielding away. Many others have fitted 3.5" drives too - without cutting into the case plastics.

It's since been replace with a slim 3.5" hard drive I had spare from an old PC.

Just get a new UK one from Amigakit for around £17.50.

Saves faffing around.

@Magno
Did you install German keymap?
Try adding this to your startup-sequence and put in devs/keymaps d keymap:
assign >NIL: KEYMAPS: DEVS:Keymaps (this part should be already in it)
setkeyboard d

Excellent find!

Yes, one of my A1200s has a 3.5" drive in it - the previous owner tells me it was fitted by an Amiga dealer - way back...
...when opened the drive was 'enclosed' in its original static bag, just laying on the mobo.
Such a top-bodge I didn't have the heart to change it.
