[Found: K240] Try to remember title...

If someone can help.

It was one of the games I never managed to go off the starting screen (!).

It was in space.
Initial (in game) screen was a small piece of land (IIRC), rectangular I think (or rhombus?), in space. It was in isometric, but normal pixel-drawn graphics. On that piece of land, there were... erm... things. Maybe buildings that I initially owned and I suspect I had to expand to other "lands" (planets?).
It only had a few buttons, I think no text explaining what does what.
I am not sure there was a ship parked there, but I think there was.

Sounds like Utopia or K240 maybe.
