Suitable capacitor replacements

Hi All,

I need to buy some 100uf 6.3v ceramic capacitors (SMT 1206). Now the problem is that these buggers are not cheap, almost $1 each.

I don't know too much about electrical characteristics of specific capacitor types and am wondering if there is a substitute that can be used.

for example, i can buy a bipolar through hole 100uf 10v Aluminium capacitor for $0.25 each and of course if it can work well as a substitute then i would go with that

Anyone have any insight on this topic?

Thanks
