I managed to pick up a 2nd-edition Hardware Reference Manual on eBay a year or two back for a price that wasn't too ridiculous (I forget what it was exactly.)

They don't come up very often, though, so prices tend to be high. If you find a place with the 3rd edition at a reasonable price, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Question

Why you need a hardcopy? If you only want to read offline try getting the pdf and print it out yourself. You can find interesting info in this thread: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=41172&highlight=hardware+reference+manual

If it needs to be "the original" you can find it online around 30-50 EUR in average - you can post a Want-To-Byu-message for instance at this board at the marketplace http://eab.abime.net/forumdisplay.php?f=25

Egay has usually fun-prices but here is a German resource where you can get it for the amount I mentioned earlier: http://www.booklooker.de/app/result....oks=on&x=0&y=0

Maybe he likes books? Books are objects made for reading, and higher quality than a printout. HRM has pretty thin paper and so fits neatly next to the monitor. It can lie open on the desk on a page of interest while typing code.

Maybe has no printer? Maybe he has an inkjet? (takes ages to print 380+ pages, even if you shrink it down beyond legible size) Maybe he has only a PDF-incapable Amiga? Maybe he liked the type and graphics of the original better?

Many reasons to own a hardcopy, I have both. Magix FTP doesn't seem to have it anymore btw?
