I have purchased the Z-500 happy with it heheh. Anyways...I am looking for an empty case to put on the side car for my A500 and to put the Z500 in it. Can you please help me?
Thanks in advance. |

Good question!
Maybe someone from the 3d printing scene could chime in? Might be a bit of a niche business on ebay? |

@xboxown
Yep, a custom case produced with a 3D printer would be the best solution for a sidecar to house the Z-500 adapter. In terms of a commercial and more elaborate solution (i.e. a whole custom desktop case for your A500 + Z-500), the Checkmate A1500+ would have been another way to go.....but the Kickstarter for that ended a little while ago now and if cases become available to the general public, then it will only be after backers receive their cases (estimated delivery date: May 2019). I backed the Kickstarter and will be buying the Z-500 as an optional extra with the Checkmate A1500+. Stephen Jones and Rob Cranley (Daedalus) should really be commended for bringing both products to modern day classic Amiga users! http://www.amigasystems.com/ https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-desktop-compu |

...No more Ritalin, for this man.
Edit: seriously though i think you can get like third party 3d printing services that'll deliver whatever design you want. Google it. John |

I mean, googling 'canadian 3d printing services' yields like a gazillion results.
If you want that design, and the files are available, you can get it |

Cool the jets there! Just a word of warning - that case is for a different adaptor to the Z-500 so it won't fit. I'm sure the design could be modified easily enough - maybe it's time to learn some 3D modelling

I didn't design it, but should be able to adapt it to what you need.

Any idea on what the costs are for 3d printing of this kind?
I obviously don't know anybody with a printer, but would love for example a sidecar 'box' for the TF530 or TF534... the 68k relocator could easily be adapted (i'm not sure if flipping it over is enough, but still - its an easy job) to dump the card outside the case. I think it would look cool and allow for more room in the case for other things, and better cooling. As always, John |
