Commercial Playstation to 9-pin D adapters
A user over at http://www.atari-forum.com is producing some adapters for Playstation pads to enable them to be used on the Amiga, Atari, Spectrum etc.
I am trying to get the developer to add CD32 support out of the box either in addition to current functions or as a special edition. The prices are not bad, £15 in kit form, £20 assembled as an extension cable or £23 assembled including PS2 Analog pad. Well I'm getting one. http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16066 |

Thanks for letting us know, and for trying to get the guy to make the adapters CD32 compatible. I always wanted one of those PS-CD32 adapters, but the guys who made them didn't seem to make many or sell them on eBay very often. For such a useful bit of hardware, I'm surprised someone hasn't already made a bulk lot of them to sell until now.

LOL, this has been done before. I have in my hands a PSX->amiga adapter (with analogue support) that supports the cd32 mapping completelly. plus it offers a "mouse mode" , you plug it in the mouse port and analogue stick moves teh mouse (duh)
here is a snip from the documentation: >> ========================== >> Controller Mode Selection. >> ========================== >> There are four controller modes supported: >> >> The 'Select' button on the playstation pad is used to override the >> current controller mode. >> >> A more detailed description for controller override is given later... >> >> a) CD32 Mode (Default) 'Select' >> b) Traditional Joystick Mode 'Select + L2' >> c) Amiga Mouse Mode 'Select + R2' >> d) Atari Mouse Mode 'Select + L2 + R2' next version will have mirroring/mapping of UP direction to a button (so JUMP in games will not be the ultra-lame up direction) plus in the works is a serial->ps2 mouse adapter for older pc's EDIT: I forgot to mention, I have contacted the person that makes them, to check upon availabillity and status of the newer design... I will let you know Last edited by keropi; 09 March 2009 at 12:19. |

What about availability of the older design?
That picture has a Joystick connector (9-pin DSUB) that would not work with A600 (physically would not fit!) |

Keropi, did you ever get a reply about the adapters? I'd rather buy one of those ones than some Atari one that doesn't already have all those CD32/analogue features.
Then maybe we can send one to the Tracker Hero guys and get proper PS2 Guitar support! |

http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=150338628116 I can't play analog games with it but I already have a PS2 controller in case |
