Which keyboards have compatible keys with Amigas?

I am building an Amiga project and am thinking of changing the colour of the keys, I would like black, but CDTV keyboards are hard to find these days. I don't fancy the "boil in the bag" nylon dye solution either.

Yes, I know the italicised A keys are unique to Amiga, however, are there any keyboards out there from any other manufacturers with keys that are interchangeable with Amiga keys? Most of the ones I've looked at are not the same underneath the keys, but you never know....

I guess your best bet would be to find out who manufactured the Amiga keyboards. If it's Cherry or some similiar company, they may have used some standard components. Then you just need to find out if they made anything in black.

If memory serves Mitsumi made the keyboards for most wedgie Amigas and a lot of the desktop ones too.

I guess Jope is the resident expert here.

Merlin

you forgot the HELP and DEL are diferents on pc keyboards....
Maybe you can find an old AT keyboard that you can interchange keys....but if you found one...sure is white or yellowed like the amiga keys

the only solution posible is a CDTV /CD32 keyboard....get ready on ebay or another source to pick one

Hmmm, a most intriguing question.
