How much is a CDTV with accessories worth?
Hello all,
Am asking for your guidance. A guy in the hood has a CDTV for sale, but I think the asking price of £200 is insane (don't ask me why!!! ) However I'm quite interested in this piece of hardware and would like to make a serious offer. The device is in mint condition and has an external floppy drive and a keyboard (neat!) I don't know (yet!) what kind of other stuff is included, but it sounds like a good deal. But £200 is absolutely fantasy pricing if you ask me... |

Okay, mint condition is great. (Keyboard is expensive, too)
Please find out about all the other stuff. Maybe there are some rare titles included, like Loom, Indy or Sherlock Holmes C.D. In that case it´s worth 150-200 pounds, I think. |

If it has a black 1084s monitor then £200 is about right.
Just the unit, keyboard, mouse, joypad, roller-ball, floppy drive. That is about £50 Extras like SCSI or KS3.1, PROMS, MiniMega chip etc. push up the price considerably. The CDTV does suck ass though, perhaps the worse half-ECS Amiga to own. |

I got the unit now, it is in as new good condition - even the little plastic sticker that tells you not to stuff disks directly into the machine but use a caddy... I also got a bunch of other things, some A600's in very bad condition (dirty and writing all over them) and also an Amiga 1200 plus various bits and bobs... RAM cards, harddisks etc. Think I'm going to upgrade the CDTV to ECS and see if I can't do another couple of upgrades too. All housemates would agree it's an acceptable addition to the rack under the telly... |

I could do with an A601 RAM upgrade and a 2Mbyte+ PCMCIA SRAM board.
If you have some I could swap you for three EPROMS. (They may or maynot have KS3.1 40.63 and v2.3 CDTV PROMs on them for educational purposes only ) BTW: Oliver's site is back! http://www.cdtv.org.uk/index.html |

It would take 10 seconds to turn it from a 0.5Meg RAM upgrade to a 1.0 Meg (giving 2.0Meg). Just add the missing 4 256x4 RAM chips to bank 1 and 256x4 DIP DRAM are cheap as chips.
PM me and we'll sort something out. I come into London now and again, living in Oxford. |
