They are 512kbytes each, half of which goes unused with a regular KS3.1.

The half is lost as it is mapped to the other ROM chip. As far as the Amiga address map is concerned it appears identical to a single-chip ROM like in the A500, 600 etc.

Thanks. Just ordered a 27C400 adapter for my USB eprom programmer so I guess I ought to burn myself some homecooked chips.
But I'm still looking for in-socket flash solutions for my 4000. And 1M+ solutions too for that matter. Both in one really. All I have seen have been homebrews with nowhere to order... (Oh, and I found this thread that said $F00000 was mapped on the Zorro-II bus?) P.S Is my new used KickflashOS4 a ROM device that allocates memory and copies over data from flash? I still haven't opened and tested it... |

You can use a Romy if you need 1 MB of ROM space.
