Shadowgate Problems ! Again !

Alright guys.
I've checked all the previous post relating to Shadowgate.
I still can't get the damn thing to work. Ive tried all the
TOSEC versions of the game.

Im running XP (I know its pants)
WinUAE r9
Using back to the roots 1.3 kickstart config
Have tried 1.2 configs

Still crashes every time on all versions when I double click on
the Shadowgate logo on the workbench to run the game.

Any advice chaps ?

Does anyone have a version and config that they have tested and works that I could have a look at ?

Uh, I know I've gotten it to work once... So it should be possible. I'll need to have another look on it. But I remember it was quite bitchin'. Have you tried twitching with every setting? I believe I had it working with kick 1.2 to start with. Try a500 speed, slow but more compatible etc.

If my memory serves me well, I recall there were sound issues as well... Try different sound modes. It might help.

There are versions of this game that are DEFINITELY broken!
I had already sent out a working version to a guy from UAE Discussion Board back then (Toni, you remember this, that's the "forum" [1] you visited ages ago )

Seriously though, I've just tested this game and appended my A500 config, I hope it works for you now.

Well, ive tried that config, but still no joy.

It must be the versions I have from TOSEC
All seem to crash with the same error..

I tried the TOSEC [a3] version with my config and I was successful.
Please give it another try.

Your Kickstart ROM should be version 1.3, consider this, for other versions may not work.

If everything else fails: there's also an original out there now, in special disk format, readable by WinUAE. For legal reasons, I'm not allowed to upload these kinds of images here, nor may I give links and the like. Consider it's NOT w***z anyhow, it's just unwanted in this forum. Therefore, contact me via PM for more information.

Got it running at last.

Seems to work with the [a3] version with the above
config - with more compatible mode selected.

I did have a few other old games with similar problems.
I will try out this method on them too.
