Cinemaware cheats
I was always a great fan of Defender of the Crown and even bought the original game 20 years ago Never found it too hard to win, using Wilfried of Ivanhoe with good jousting skills, although it was sometimes difficult to win the swordfights.
So I'm ashamed to commit, I used my Quickshot Turbo in the mouse port with autofire to win I also remember counting the marks on the catapults rope so to know for sure how to tear down the walls. So this game's no real challenge but it's interesting to know of this cheats, first time I heard of it in this thread Unfortunately other Cinemaware games seem to be real hard to end, as e.g. ROCKET RANGER - so, anyone knows a cheat for this one. Seems to remain one of the few cheatless games for me or am I mistaken??? |

The sequence changes in DotC II and you need to use a combination of small and large boulders to break down the wall Quote:

Last thing, you can get the Rocket Ranger Secret Decoder Wheel (in Acrobat and Word format) from the Vault located on the official Cinemaware website...
Maybe HOL should add these to the Rocket Ranger page? Last edited by DamienD; 10 July 2018 at 20:25. |

In an interview, it was mentioned by the publisher that the Atari ST DotC version was the best. |

damien, thanks for the tips, I think I will have to use savestates to finish RR. When playing 20 years ago, I was so frustrated that the game had no save functionality, I only made it to the moon once!

The funnies comment I read about this was one by G.Longsword (unfortunately the image from his post above seems to have disappeared): http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=220131&postcount=20 As for the end sequence hanging, this is something I can live with as it plays until the last scene in the cathedral. It may not be an error at all, who knows I did actually record the end sequence using WinUAE but am now unable to find it... |

I remember the original cheat being to keep pressing K while the game loaded.
Oh, by the way, pressing S seems to turn the sound off for me! |

Just found this little gem while looking through one of my old Amiga 2500 computers on the weekend.
Its Defender of the Crown EU version and its cracked. The "k" key cheat actually works as well! Couldn't remember doing this but I made adf's of this back in '95.! Good thing I did as the floppies are no where to be found.. Have tested it and it works perfectly. Its in the zone. |

I always had this version where you get presented at boot:
Type 'Defender' for the normal version! Type 'Defender+' for the trainer version! Thanks to THE POWERSLAVES for cracking & STAGE II for training this. it is on the BSA DVD collection, disk 150 (so part1 rar), should be on the ftp, but I can upload it if anyone is interested. |
