I'm sure amigapd would be interested in the contents of the disks for his new website

http://www.amigapd.com/

PM amigapd here on EAB maybe?

I'm sure TCD would appreciate images of the CD's on the EAB server as well!!

I bought HiSoft Basic 2 from Eyetech, just before they went into liquidation. It came on 2 floppy disks (program files on one, manual on the other) mounted in a purpose-made jewel case. I had thought this might be unique.

This is the first occasion since then that I have heard of other floppy disks in jewel cases.

I saw STFax and some stuff from Vaporware (AmiFTP, Voyager etc...) sold in jewel cases but your right it is odd to see Floppy disks sold like this... I have seen some old PD stuff on Ebay in a jewel case so it does make me wonder what Joe actually has...

Make sure you dump to stream dumps and add -i2 (without a filename before), that's it... -i2 will be unused, but that will ensure that the entire disk will be dumped and archived in the case of most formats.
You can add an Amiga format as well at the same time, so errors (if any) could be detected and retried.

@IFW: dump works fine, but when i don´t set a filename in command line i don´t know where DTC put it...i thought it will be written in root folder, but nothing there than "firmware.bin" and "dtc.exe".

do i have to set a filename without extension like ".adf" ????

@all KF owners: i´ve put my diskdrive together with the KF in an old external drive case...fits perfect...i just have to create a new back plate for power and USB connection..

try:

Code:
DTC.exe -fDUMPNAME -i0 -i2 -i5
this will create the files in the current folder. you can also

Code:
DTC.exe -fFOLDERNAME/DUMPNAME -i0 -i2 -i5
BTW awesome work with the case!

but beware! the one screw on the second picture, upper right, is pretty close to the driver's pins. you might want to insulate it.

I meant that there is no filename for the -i2 format, there should be at least one for the others specified.
You can dump to adf at the same time if you specify say:
DTC.exe -fFOLDERNAME/DUMPNAME -i0 -i2 -fDUMPNAME.adf -i5

Even more, you can use your stream files later on to dump from them (without ever reading the disk again!) to any format you like using a slightly different syntax like this, e.g. for creating an Amiga sector dump from stream files:

DTC.exe -m1 -fFOLDERNAME/DUMPNAME -i0 -fDUMPNAME.adf -i5

Formats specified without a filename are "guide formats" whatever tracks they specify will be dumped and verified, but no file will be generated. An error on any format specified would prompt a retry on the track automatically as well.

You could even verify/analyse an entire disk without dumping anything if all the formats are specified without any name - but this is not recommended since these disks are old, so if you can read them once it's better to save them then

If a filename is given for a format a file will be generated as well.

-i2 is a special format that marks the entire disk for dumping; it however does not verify content at all - it basically simulates the files generated by the old Amiga based CT dump tool. (hence it's referred to as a CT Raw image), however adding a filename to that is not recommended since the special compression it does takes about 25 secs additionally per disk. Without the filename the file generation hence the compression part will be skipped, but the disk parameters used for dumping will be used anyway.

i know the problem with the screw...i just don´t found a screw with a smaller head...but i´ve looked at it with a magnifying glass before connecting it with USB and main power...

perhaps some hot glue should fix it...

BTW: dumps were done..can you please pm or email me the FTP login for the archives ??? i don´t remember anymore....last work for SPS is some months ago...:/

fyi: all the disks are professionally duplicated and unmodified.
You could simply convert them to adf directly from the stream files as descrbied above, e.g.
dtc -m1 -ftest\software_eXclusiv_9 -i -ftest/software_eXclusiv_9.adf -i5 -l8

seems like DTC is really powerful....

i love the KryoFlux and don´t regret to bought it. I owned a Catweasle MK 4 years ago and thought that there might be more support, but nothing happens after they sold it...

now the KF is what I needed instead of other Amiga<>PC floppy solutions.

it would even be better to have a GUI for DTC...

unfortunately i have now knowledge about USB coding but i thought to built my own "frontend" for DTC that starts the DOS exe with options out of the GUI...but you are already working on it...am i right ???

BTW: adfs of the game collections can be found in the Zone...
