don't hold your breath mind, I haven't touched my Amiga for months. but it would save on having to write a development toolkit for a game creator I was planning, I was wondering about the possibility of a Backbone migration option, might just do that first.

I will have to look into exactly what Backbone is capable of, i'll maybe read through Cammy's tutorials at the weekend.

Some times before i started a backbone project called "Chaos".
But a unrepairable Bug makes this game unplayable.
So plz, safe your Datas more than twice, because Backbone is buggy and in the worst case all datas are lost.

That's pretty damn impressive considering the limited resources you're working with!

It's a hell of a lot more better than those DOS ports of Mega Man and Mega Man 3, that's for sure.

Only got Megaman 3 on SNES, awesome!
Never played 1&2, so look forward to the finished version of this

That would be Mega Man X 3. Great game, but I prefer the original NES series.

@Reentier. I've written a 3 channel megaman tune on Octamed, you're more than welcome to use in the game! Not sure if backbone supports med playback though?

I think Open Mod Plug Tracker for Windows can convert .med files to .mod

@reentier. I've uploaded the module to the "Zone", it's currently the octamed version but I may be able to convert it if necessary. Cheers.

@s2325. It would be great it if does a perfect conversion but I've got a feeling it would chew up some of the MED code, will have to try if need be :-) Failing that I can change some of the commands in the song to work with pro tracker.

edit. I think backbone uses some of the Amos libraries? If so then there's a chance it will support MED, I know later revisions of AMOS did.

Wow, I think it's fantastic that you're making your own Mega Man game for the Amiga with Backbone! I've attempted to do the same before with Sonic and Mario but gave up pretty quickly. Mega Man is a much more suitable game to make with Backbone though, and I'd love to help out in any way if I can!

I can playtest the game and let you know how it runs on a variety of Amigas, or I could even help with the development of the game as I have a lot of experience using Backbone, so I know how to make the most of its limitations.

Have you thought about trying to make a CD32, CDTV or A500 version of the game, making it more accessible to people who don't have a hard drive setup? There are ways we can optimise a Backbone game and make it bootable from floppy disk or CD, I've done it myself!

You really should use that mod that lordofchaos made, it sounds perfect! I'm sure it can be converted to a usable format. I had a friend make some music for my Halloween Nightmare game in a foreign format and we converted it to a Protracker mod in a later version of Octamed, and it sounds fine.

For anyone who hasn't played an official Mega Man game before, you can play some of them on your Amiga! If you have an AGA Amiga you can run AmiMasterGear and play the Game Gear version of Mega Man. You can find them here:

AmiMasterGear - http://zener.kung-foo.net/AmiEmulatorsWeb/amg.html
Mega Man - Search for Mega Man USA for Sega Game Gear and download the ROM from one of the many sites that host them.
