I was thinking you decided to describe yourself... and managed to post this message here instead of Tinder.

Amazingly, the arcade cabs seem to be still there. Guess it's not easy to scavenge them from such location.

Interesting story, thanks. Those groups who do covert explorations/filming of creepy abandoned theme parks need to investigate this one. I'd watch that.

I read about this many years ago how a group of people did the donkeywork to get the machines out of there. I think most/all of it is cleared out now.

"Old but interesting" - that's pretty much what we deal in here

Seeing the arcade machines brings a tear to the eye.

We are indeed living in a decadent and Gibsonian era where ultramodern hightech live with relics of more prosperous times and over the shoulders of giants

The corrosive nature of the sea air probably rendered all those electronics as being on the brink of beyond repair at best.

About 12 collectors in the UK and Europe took them and they went into the arcade collectors community. As a collector myself it’s nice to see these being saved and not left to ruin like so many machines from back in the day.

Definitely, it's great now they have been saved!

I shall hopefully play some here:

Glad to see this event slowly coming back - it's a really fab one and i have been twice now, i think it is just a smaller one this time as a post covid test but well worth the visit

Also a good museum in Swindon and there was a retro pub in Worcester that had a few machines including ghoulsnghosts
