Some questions
Righty.. I have the newest WinUAE ( 0.8.22R1 ) there`s some things that I have always wondered... what they do, and the benifits.
1: OpenGL... ? the only reason I tried this was because to get rid of the band at the bottem and the right hand side of the screen! is there a speed benifit ? 2: JIT ... what is that exactly 3: Lastly.. the whole refresh thing.. 4: RTG, whats that all about ? thanks in advance Last edited by stainy; 09 September 2002 at 15:15. |

I can only answer Opengl. Opengl will give a speed benefit as it makes use of your hardware acceleration if you have any, and it'll also enable you to make stuff like scanlines in hardware and also resizing of screen size. Furthermore opengl will also enable you to blur the screen a bit thus if you run doubled mode you've most likely noticed how you can see a lot of blocky pixels, when using opengl you can try getting that to antialias it making for a smoother picture.

I also find this JIT thing very confusing,
I tried setting up a HD with WB 3.1 and used JIT settings and it failed Only if I disable the JIT will it work |

@CPC464
Do you have a Pentium 4? If so, you can get the 0.8.22R1 Pentium 4 JIT fix from Toni's site when it's back online. It says "Download following executable if you have Pentium 4 and JIT-mode is crashing the emulator" |
