easy.. tell every single person who bids on these CDs where they can download it for free.. and maybe take out an 'official' CD32 compilation ebay add for $0.01 BUY IT NOW and use the same layout and graphic style (can't use the same pics as this low life, but you could easily copy the style and photoshop something almost identical) and advertise the $0.01 whenever this idiot advertises his CDs.

The idea of of creating an AUTO instructions message would work better than a competion for 1 cent auction.

Unless we create a "powerseller" 1cent shop for the FREE! amiga downloads

So as to divert, the eBay search engines, when buyers 1st look for these items.

Then answer ALL contacts by employing the INSTANT e-mail list method of distribution

This would SAVE a HECK of a LOT of messaging & anger in thread about this subject

Then ONLY the terminally STUPID would spend any money on these rip off compilations

Any takers ?

Could somebody setup a fake user on EBay and simply "Buy it Now!" with that fake account everytime they see an auction? With no intention of ever paying or worries about negative feedback, that might be quite amusing. You could also do silly bids like $1000 if there was no buy it now option...

I think that if the buyer does not pay, then ebay refunds the listing fee. It would be better to see them lose their listing fee aswell, if they are losing money they are not likley to keep doing it!

Very good idea.
Remember WHD authors: Codetapper, Galahad, Girv, JOTD, CFOU! - all that stuff sold there IS YOUR HARD WORK!!!
I would not be surprised if this "patchez" CD even happened to include a "regged" WHD distribution.

[edit] He even saved £3! Here's the official way to buy this "original" CD for no less than £10 (!!):

Two of those links are the same person, and the third link, some of his wording was suspiciously similar. Reported to Ebay and informed them of Copyright Infringement

'Your 'Patchez' CD's with the Amiga WHDLoad installers is Copyright Infringement.

Check out http://eab.abime.net and you won't find ONE author of any installs that will give you permission to sell their work.'

Unfortunately EBay doesn't seem to do anything about it. Girv tried to set the WHDLoad users up so we could report them quickly but I think they wanted a tonne of paperwork and I'm not sure how far he got.

Well he's just emailed me back apologising. From what he says, there are people duplicating these things on masse, and him and several others simply buy multiple copies of whatever this bulk carriers have.

Ehm, I suggest that you guys be FAIR!
That means, if people from e-bay get sued selling this, amigastuff UK should get sued too!

Was / Is the "patchez" CD ever an official, above board, product endorsed by JST and WHDLoad and the other patch authors?

It seems to be everywhere, almost all online Amiga shops etc.

There are 2-3 adverts on ebay for it each week!

They always sell too

Just curious.
