Hello from Ottawa, Canada

As someone that was a teen during the 80s, I love all the computers from that time, with a soft spot for the MSX ones (not very popular outside Japan, Netherlands, Spain and Brazil apparently).
After buying a bunch of Commodore stuff (C64, C128) I started looking for an Amiga and today out-of-the-blue, someone posted one for sale here in town, that belonged (according to him) to his mom.
As I do not know much about Amiga (never owned one) from what I can tell it is an Amiga 500 and came with an expansion that attaches to the side. I opened the expansion and it seems to be in perfect shape. It even has a Maxtor 120Mb hard disk on it and 8MB RAM. There is also what seems a Motorola 68030 on it. The label on the thing says A530 Turbo.
As it came with no power supply, I cannot test anything.
I ordered a PSU for the Amiga itself but it seems this A530 has its own power supply so I may need to hack something (like another Amiga PSU) to get the 5-pin connector this thing has.
It was dirty cheap (USD 150) and everything seems to be in very good shape. Hopefully it will power on when I get the PSU.

Once everything is working I am definitely curious about what is on that hard disk!

Are you from one of those countries? I too was a teen during the 80's, but I never saw an MSX computer in Canada. I never even heard of MSX until I was.. middle aged in the 2000's.

Yep. I was born in Brazil but moved to Canada a long time ago. The MSX somehow was available in the US but from what I know, it never made its way to Canada. Great machine though.
Now I just want to get the Amiga 500 going. See if that expansion board thing works too. LOL
Are you in Canada?
