Amiga mouse cable fault

I have a mouse whose connecting cable has two wires broken. I have disassembled the cable from the mouse motherboard, which is a 9 pin box type connector using eight pins. I have cut out the faulty part of the cable and need femail terminals to reaasemble the box connector. They are very tiny. Where can I get new terminals? Is it possible to open the old terminals and reuse them? It seems a pity to throw out the mouse just for the sake of these tiny terminals.

Thanks in advance

You You might be able to reuse the terminals if you can get them out without damaging the connector. Compatible connectors and crimps are probably available, you just need to find the correct part numbers. I really don't know if this is it or not, you really need to check the pitch, sizes and all that to make sure, but it *might* be this one:

Molex 51065 Series

Matching crimps (50212 Series)

I'm sure you can find them elsewhere in smaller quantities.

Alternatively, just solder the wires to the board...

Thanks for your detailed response. I made tiny collars out of wire casing and attached the wires to the male pins by pressing the inserted wires onto the pins, holding them together. It works well, but, of course, I don't know for how long. It always seems a shame to throw away electronic kit for the sake of a fixable connection. I will follow up your suggestion about replacement terminals.
