I forgot there was a second April Fools day thing.. Alpine9000 suggested there was a C64 version on the way, so I quickly faked it (just C64 palette + double wide pixels)

A technical notice: system is not closed up / locked when the game is launched from WB. It means if you are clicking with a mouse / pressing keys in the game, you also do the same in workbench behind. This could accidentally lead to some unexpected actions in your system. The same with TimeGal.

@powrslave could be a chipram free issue perhaps? Have you tried no startup-sequence?

@predseda eep, that's embarrasing. It's in a system friendly mode most of the time so it can constantly load data from the file system. I'll have to see what I can do about forbidding key access outside of the game.

Maybe just open the wholescreen empty CLI before the game starts?

Can others confirm this? When watching Road Avenger AGA, the intro, to it's end; Video and sound are synced. Running the intro for the second time and the video run's fine, but not the sound. It have problem to play the sound as it was the first time.

Maybe free chip ram is not enough.
Try to launch the game booting from shell without "startup-sequence".

Heya ma693541,

I know that you're using the .HDF from my collection

Just tested, watched the complete intro twice and then started the game.

Couldn't see any sound sync issues.

Not my kind of game, but I appreciate the effort put into this to make it a fairly definitive version.

Great effort

DamienD, maybe I have a slow laptop then. I use latest WinUAE 32-bit on a DualCore 1.2 Ghz CPU.
Looks like turning off "Cycle-exact" in the configfile did the trick or my little CPU was very busy doing other things last time I tried it. Thank you. Wish I had a heavy gaming PC now.

Sounds like it.

...I mean, my laptop was purchased in late 2011 but was top of the range back then:

a) Intel Core i5-2410M 2.3Ghz with Turbo Boost up to 2.9GHz
b) NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
c) 8GB DDR3 memory.

Whatever you do, don't try Payback [AmigaCD] then as your laptop might melt

Seeing this kind of polished, pro-level releases appearing for the Amiga in 2018 is nothing short of amazing. Absolutely fantastic!

Are we allowed to ask about your potential future releases yet?

Cheers guys! @Damien thanks for following up the sync issue, I didn't have a clue myself what it could have been.

@A500 broadly speaking my plan for 2018 (touch wood) is

Q1: Road Avenger
Q2: AlarCity
Q3: Raid Over Moscow
Q4: [Unannounced Project]

For 2019, a final version of Highway Sprint is on the cards, maybe a port of The Kiwi's Tale.. we'll see

Yes we had the crazy idea of "What if the New Zealand Story was actually made by New Zealanders?" for the Retro Remakes 2008 competition.. the judges derided it as having an Amiga PD quality to it
