Now with an SFX PSU installed

The new psu is much smaller making for more space but the cables are super rigid making them a pain to tidy. I need to do some proper cable management when I have time. The psu draws air in from underneath and pushes it out the back.

I removed the CD/DVD drive in my A4000 and I don't miss it. I assume you have ethernet card?

Yes there's a NIC. CD-ROM is good for cd music tracks on games - like WipeOut, Quake etc..

Yeah but still not via Prisma, which is rather pathetic from A-EON, such an expansion only doing mp3 play...

Cd audio goes into the soundblaster which acts as a mixer for Paula, Prisma and cdaudio.

Who was it that did the work? I want some done, I could probably do this myself but its sourcing the correct caps... its all about the correct physical size and I am rubbish as this sorta thing.

The psu work was done by beta gamma computing but I believe the guy is in the process of moving home so he’s not taking on more work for the moment.

The frame was printed following the instructions on thingiverse:

I also need to do a few updates as the ppc card is now a 950mhz G3 750fx, and the front bezel has been swapped for a pristine white one, as has the floppy drive.

Do you have any plans for the old front? I badly need one one of the side edges has fallen off... can only assume its the age of the plastic, it has gone brittle.

Someone did a 3D print design of this, if this helps at all.

The empty Zorro slot is now occupied by a brand new ICY V2 i2c card. Photos to follow

I’ve also been testing a 128bit Radeon 9200 in place of the Vooodoo3. This seems to clash with the PCI NIC so when I’m using the Radeon the NIC is removed and ethernet is handled using a usb NIC on the Deneb. The Radeon’s bracket has been drilled to allow a usb header to be mounted it to keep things tidy.

As I have no battery connected to the rtc circuit I have no clock in this machine. So I’ve added a cheap DS3231 RTC module and connected it to the I2C bus.

Nice. I don't have a RTC in my A4000 either. I just get the time from a NTP server on each boot
