So maybe it's Dragon's Lair or Dragon's Lair II?

in the first scene is side view, you are on the bridge and a tentacles come out from the water and have to use sword at right time to destory them and then enter on the castle.
If you see the graphics you don't understand is Dragon's lair. When you play, then you see "Dragon's Lair".
It's difficult to explain better this game..i have played with it many years ago.

ps.
maybe this game is impossible to find.
i don't remember if it was original or an italian non original game
i have a copy from a newstand version

Once again it's time to mention the C64/C128 this week as Trevor Story has shown off the latest gameplay updates for their in development Adventure game in a Dungeon Crawler style of ' Argus ', which will be released by Psytronik Software at some point soon. Coded by Achim Volkers, music and sfx by Saul Cross, art and design by Trevor Storey, and with a design flavour of the classic Psygnosis game 'Obitus' (hence the image above). This game will have you exploring new locations and battling mighty foes with a multitude of weapons.

Even further homebrew news to whet your appetite as Trevor Storey has shown off another early sneak peak footage tease of the C64 action adventure game 'Soulless 2', which is still in development and is the sequel to Soulless. Unlike the first game as we said before, this one is more ' Antiriad ' and less Draconus and Impossible Mission that was seen in the first game and features multiple areas including forests and temples, different deadly enemy types and plenty of blasting action to be had!

If you were a fan of the game Limbo with its dark backgrounds and horror overtone, then as a retro gamer you might be surprised to learn of a Limbo C64 work in progress that has been shown today thanks to a creator by the name of Søren Trautner Madsen. Some time ago Playdead gave him the blessing as they allowed him to port LIMBO to the C64 and was earlier shown off as just a proof of concept. To coincide with this eye opening news, a video footage of the project has been shown as a work in progress for the graphics and basic boy controls.

Moving away from the rather special heads up regarding Limbo on the C64, we now look towards Hokuto Force with their brilliant bug fix and trainer release for the 1988 Shoot em up ' Katakis ', which was first released by Rainbow Arts. Playing in a similar style to that of the hit game R-Type, this is a shoot em up in which you need to blast your way through many waves of enemies, picking up power ups along the way and finally destroying each of the end bosses to finally reach the core of the evil machines and retake the planet Katakis.

Thanks a lot Neil. Both are incredible. In my case I love that Limbo project: so modern and the perfect game for a C64.

VVVVVV + - Incredible news as modern Indie game gets a C64 conversion!

Quote:
We are about to blow you away with possibly the BEST C64 release news of the week, as Laxity have released the full C64 conversion of the modern Indie game ' VVVVV ', which was originally released back in 2010 and created by Terry Cavanagh for multiple platforms including the PC. This puzzle platform game is a conversion of one of the hardest games you'll ever play but it's one of the best that has gathered countless high scores!

A shot in the dark: You have to use true drive emulation in Vice.

Sometime back we mentioned the work in progress enhancement of the original C64 game of H.E.R.O, which was first released way back in the 1980's for the Atari 800/2600, ColecoVision, C64, C128, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Now titled as ' H.E.R.O II ', with updates by the same developer Retrofan who is behind the upcoming Bombjack remaster. Has felt that the original was lacking in the graphics department as it looked and played hardly any better than the Atari 2600 version. As such also thanks to maltes they have decided to make it look so much better as an overhaul, that is now previewed in this early version released by Excess.

In 1992 many of us had the pleasure of playing id Software's incredible first person shooter ' Wolfenstein 3D ' for MS-DOS. It was the second major release after Commander Keen and featured a unique 3D game engine with multiple enemy types such as Nazi soldiers and dogs, and multiple weapon types to defend yourself with such as guns and knifes. It is a game that is still loved to this day and it's why it came as a shocking surprise to us, to see a port of Wolfenstein 3D (based on the original ID software source code release) has been made available on the C64/128 - Requiring a SuperCPU v2 and 16MB RAM.

For the 3 people that have a SuperCPU :P
Releases for SUperCPU are kinda really pointless IMO, since nobody has made a newer, widely available accelerator replacement yet.

Well, at least WinVice supports SuperCPU pretty good.
