Hardware compatability question

I have a few things I'm selling on e*** and a question came up I can't answer....

Q: Can this product be used in conjunction with the DKB MultiStart II Rom Switcher on an Amiga 500?Jan-25-10

A: I am by no means an Amiga expert so I can't answer your question. I do know that if you have the SIN500 installed on a rev 5 motherboard you CAN'T use any of the newer ROM chips because it needs to have a special space base and with the SIN500 installed you can't fit under it. The DKB unit has a ribbon cable with a single heigth (lack of a better term)plug so it will physically fit under the SIN500 but I don't know functionality of both together but I don't see why it wouldn't. If there are any AMiga enthusists following my auctions please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you

Sorry no experience but if it will physically fit, it will work. It is just a Fast RAM card after all.

If it won't physically fit then I'm sure a row of spacers in the Amiga's 68000 socket would make it work. Effectively raising the SIN500 up by 2mm.

Whether the A500 case would close again... another matter.

Not sure how much this is but you may want to hold off as there is an 8Mbyte alternative to this coming out within the next 12 months or so.
