Could someone please look @ their CD32 pcb for me... need a toasted resistor value

Hi All,

Just picked up a nice non-working CD32 and I traced the problem to a open surface mount resistor, R801, located between the power connector and on-off switch.
Problem is that I can't read the value as the print is worn/burnt off.

Thanks!

depends on your version... here is schematics for the CD32

http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/sc...chematics.html

it looks like it is the same as R802 (0 ohms?). its on page 9 of the schematic

Thank You! It is 0 ohms, I guess I missed that in the schematic.... still learning.

I just used some 30ga. kynar wire and made a jumper.... seems to be working.

Thanks again!

That resistor will be there for overcurrent/overvoltage protection. Think of it like a fuse.

If you do decide to bypass it permanently (not recommended), then removing it and soldering the two pads together would be a much neater option than running a wire.
