Old TOSEC Amiga Correction Thread

OK, new thread but same as before really

This thread is here for anyone wishing to help out by making any corrections, suggestions or comments that relate to anything Amiga in TOSEC. We had some very helpful information from some of the regulars in the past, and long may it continue.

This is the wrong place for any comments about anything non Amiga or if you're just coming to bitch and whine.

Of course, it's entirely up to you whether you want to post anything or not - nothing is "expected" of anyone, the thread is just here if you do.

Lost Prince, The (1994)(DTO Software)
is
Lost Prince, The (1994)(DTO Software)(PD)
or even
Lost Prince, The (demo)(1994)(DTO Software)(PD)

[Make up your mind! ]

This is a PD demo version with the prince doomed to lose the game
(unless you buy the full version )
That's what can be found in the docs on disk.

=====

Tales of Fear (1987)(Shane)[cr House of Nikademus]
is
Tales of Fear (1987)(House of Nikademus)[comic]

and belongs to demos - slideshows.
(This is a horror or, better, *gore* comic-on-disk)

=====

Digital Evolving Soup (19xx)(Black Belt Systems)
is
Digital Evolving Soup (1993)(Black Belt Systems)[WB]

Now is this really a game?
It's a kind of "genetic simulation" where you can simulate an evolution of creatures.A workbench is mandatory.
BTTR have listed it under Tools!

Moved to Educational Software - seems most appropriate out of any existing dat

=====

Exxon (1991)(Mahon Computer)*
are both
Exxon (1991)(Maxon Computer)*
(Some fonts seem hard to read )

@idoru - OK. I like things consolidated ... that's why it's nicer to do everything in one post instead of writing 150 single posts in this thread.
But if you insist ...

Roulette (1991)(Schatztruhe)[cr Vitex]
is either
Roulette (1991)(Wolf)[cr Vitex]
or
Roulette (1991)(OASE)[cr Vitex]

Doesn't matter, but NOT Schatztruhe.
'Schatztruhe' is by Stefan Ossowski, whereas OASE is by Wolf Computertechnik aka Wolf Software & Design, founded by Rainer Wolf.

Well if there's really a new public DAT out in the foreseeable future, I'm going to delete some of my posts again in order not to bloat RCK's database when there's no reason for it (anymore).

Alright...a new one...
thanks to Belgarath for pushing me a little to get this tested...
Inspektor Griffu - Ein Toter hat Heimweh (1989)(Art Edition)(De)[cr Supreme]
is
Inspektor Griffu - Ein Toter hat Heimweh (1989)(Art Edition)(De)[cr Supreme][ b]

as is not that "supreme" as the cracking group suggests

... the game DOES NOT WORK.
Tested on my A1000 and got same results on WinUAE. You cannot go anywhere in the game, while this does work fine with the CAPS version.
BTW, this "crack" is by Shut Berlin / Supreme. (ex-Endless Piracy; no further comment)

Arkanoid (1988)(Discovery)[cr SF]*
are all
Arkanoid (1988)(Discovery)(NTSC)[cr SF][f PAL SF]*

People, this is a PAL-fixed US version!!
I've yet to see a cracked PAL (EU) version!
(None spotted yet ...)
The first time when I saw an European version at all was when I checked out the corresponding CAPS image!

Super Gem'Z (1992)(Kaiko-JP)[cr HLM](Disk 1 of 2)
Super Gem'Z (1992)(Kaiko-JP)[cr HLM](Disk 1 of 2)[t +9 ATX]
Super Gem'Z (1992)(Kaiko-JP)[cr HLM](Disk 2 of 2)
Super Gem'Z (1992)(Kaiko-JP)[cr HLM](Disk 2 of 2)[a]
Super Gem'Z (1993)(Kaiko-JP)[cr HLM][t +9 ZNT](Disk 1 of 2)
Super Gem'Z (1993)(Kaiko-JP)[cr HLM][t +9 ZNT](Disk 2 of 2)

The correct name for all of those is:

Gem'Z (1992)(Kaiko)...

"Super" is not a part of the game title (same thing as with Apidya). "Kaiko-JP" is also just a joke.

The current public dat has it included as Super Gem'Z (1992)(Kaiko)... - so it's been corrected in 2 stages. Next release will have the Super removed. Thanks WindowsKiller

For the HOL:

It's correct that a pc version was written as well, but like the Amiga version, it wasn't released, too. The graphics are from "Frank Matzke".

Intact (1990)(Sphinx)[cr ACC - Defjam - CCS][t +4 Setrox][b corrupt graphics]

Remove [b corrupt graphics], there's nothing wrong with the adf. If you get corrupt graphics, you have set up WinUAE incorrectly.

Hmm...nor did I ever feel happy with the 'Super ...'. I left it in HOL as alternate game name now, hidden from the entry, though. The entry itself is now saying "Gem'Z", as listed on Chris Hülsbeck's "Works" list on his web page.

http://hol.abime.net/?id=2186
Thanks for the graphic artist info. Where did you get that from?

[edit] Deeper research resulted in the team turning out to be the same as with GEM'X: Lamparter / Matzke / Hülsbeck.
Seemingly GEM'Z was the (anticipated) sequel of GEM'X.

Interesting stuff!
This is IMPORTANT: it could maybe confirm that Gem'Z was never released!
Please ask your contact to confirm this matter ... at present, HOL merely contains assumptions.
It would be good to close the lid on this and declare the game as 'unreleased' (which it isn't yet)

@idoru
Pango Fun (19xx)(Genialogic)[cr Heresy](Disk x of 2)
is
Pango Fun (1989)(Genialogic)(beta)[cr Heresy](Disk x of 2) !!

This is a preview!
The final version is called 'PANGO', published in 1990.
Big thanks goes to musicbob for the infos and the original disk images!

Well, this is already a proven fact. Frank Matzke once said in an interview that Software 2000 refused to publish the game after a copy of it got stolen at a fair in Cologne.

I talked to Marc Kamradt, he did the pc conversion which was already a "solid beta" but got cancelled because of the same reason.

Pepsi game has one BROKEN level with the non-alt copy:
Without a working AUSTRALIA level, you cannot advance to level 2.
This version is useless.

Pepsi - All Over the World )(1991)(Delta Konzept)(De)
should become
Pepsi - All Over the World )(1991)(Delta Konzept)(De)[b one level]
or the like.

and

Pepsi - All Over the World )(1991)(Delta Konzept)(De)[a]
should therefore get a
Pepsi - All Over the World )(1991)(Delta Konzept)(De)

===

Math-Amation v1.0d (1987)(Progressive Peripherials)
should be moved from Educational to Applications and named:
Math-Amation v1.0d (1987)(Progressive Peripherials)[a]
This is an application with normal scientific calculators and equation stuff.
This is NOT a learning program. Rare italian 1.0f version (1988) is now in the zone for inclusion too.

===

These games are NOT PD:
- Short Grey (original has manual protection!)
- Shooting Machine (Cachet also did distribution for X-Copy in German-speaking territory)

Amiga Format #030 (1991-12-12)(Future Publishing)(UK)(Disk 1 of 2)[Coverdisk 30, Jan 1992].zip

and

Amiga Format #030 (1991-12-12)(Future Publishing)(UK)(Disk 2 of 2)[Graphics Workshop, Jan 1992].zip

Are both Disk 2, Disk 1 seems to be missing. Although they are both named Coverisk30a under workbench which is weird.

EDIT: The disks seem to contain both GFX Workshop and Stereomaster (BOTH supposedly on disk 2) but Lemmings AND sequenecerOne are nowhere to be seen which are supposed to be Disk 1

Kick Off 2 - The Final Whistle v1.9e (1991)(Anco)[cr Roncler Gang][data disk]

crc 8aebf0f0

should be

Kick Off 2 - The Final Whistle v1.9e (1991)(Anco)[cr Roncler Gang]

because is not a data disk (THE ORIGINAL is a data disk), is a complete and bootable game that not requires kick off 2 to work.

Hmmm...
So the [h] is supposed to mean that the game was MADE bootable, e. g. by crackers, then?

[edit] anyway, moving on...
Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam - CCS)[a]
directly boots into Quadralien, no matter what you select in the boot-menu. All other games have been removed from this disk.

should be
1 Across 2 Down (1990-12)(Amiganuts United)(LW)(Disk x of 2)[AMOS]

Bones (1997)(Black Lightening)
should be
Bones (1997)(Black Lightning)

Thingamajig (1990)(Sparx)(PD)
should be
Thingamajig (1993)(CLR-Sparx)(LW)
The original game was released in 1990, but this is the Licenseware version from CLR which was published in 1993.
Incidently, since LW games had to be purchased from their publisher, how come they are located in the PD dats? PD suggests freely distributable and LW games were anything but.
Current solution is a catch-all dat, there's at least 1 other thread elsewhere here that delves a bit deeper.

Lottery Pro v1.2 (199x)(Avante Software)[AMOS]
is 1995 and should be in the Games dat, IMHO, and here's why:
Gambling is considered gaming. Otherwise, all the Vegas-style games (card games, roulette, bingo, etc.) would be apps, as are fruit machines and anything else related. Sure, Lottery/Lotto genre software are boring and ugly to look at, but then so are text adventures. Lottery is a game of chance, game being the operative word.
Finally, click on Register Goodies from the menu of this disk and you will be taken to a bunch of interesting games.
As far as I see it, these are not games. After I had a look I couldn't see any gameplay whatsoever, they are "tools" to supposedly improve your chances in playing a real lottery - not a simulated one included within the program. If I happened to miss said simulation being included, then that would be a different case

Thanks Twistin'Ghost

Another one of these Defjam compact hoaxes (well if I get that guy in my hands who did this crap ... grrrrrrrrrrr..)

Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 10 (19xx)(Defjam - CCS)[a7].zip

directly boots into WHIRLIGIG. All other games have been removed.

Defjam & CCS - Compact Disk No 05 (19xx)(Defjam - CCS)[b2 2 games don't work].zip
Remove the *b*.
2 games "don't work"? Well, Slaygon and Mach 3 -in this version- will only work with Kickstart 1.2 and 512K chip RAM (unexpanded). (stupid!)
Blame Defjam!

=======

X-Poker (1992)(Sabre)(PD)(Disk x of 2)*

are all

Berliner Spielekiste Extra 08 (1992)(Berlin PD)(PD)(De)(Disk x of 2)*

and belong to Berliner Spielekiste DAT.
Another [a] version is in the zone.
(Thanks to Duke for pointing me to the right entry and to BTTR team for hosting the invaluable index file! )

=======
PD dat:

Labyrinth (19xx)(Kobald Graphics)(De)[cr Software Agency]
URGH. This is
Labyrinth (19xx)(Software Agency)(De)
No crack.
'Software Agency' is a co-publisher or a label of Magic Soft.
(Well I dunno exactly, but definitely no cracking group )
Maybe (well I say *maybe*) the disk could be moved to adf-games.

=======

Useful Tools 3
is
Punishers Utility Disk 03 (19xx)(PNS)

I recently dumped my original of AMOS The Creator v1.1 and found that the Program and Data disks matched the ones already in TOSEC (which would mark them as [!] right?). Only problem is that the disks in TOSEC are marked as beeing published by Europress and mine are published by Mandarin/Jawx. I don't know if v1.1 was published by Europress also, but the ones in TOSEC says Madarin/Jaws when you start AMOS up. I've been checking for any indication about Europress beeing involved in the publishing but haven't found anything.

Check out http://www.back2roots.org/Tools/List/ALL/50/ for more info.

My version also came with an Extras Disc included, which doesn't seem to be in TOSEC yet.

So unless you know something I don't about the publishing, let's straight it out:

AMOS The Creator v1.1 (1990)(Europress)(Disk 1 of 2)(AMOS)
AMOS The Creator v1.1 (1990)(Europress)(Disk 2 of 2)(Data)

should be
AMOS The Creator v1.1 (1990)(Mandarin - Jawx)(Disk 1 of 2)(AMOS)
AMOS The Creator v1.1 (1990)(Mandarin - Jawx)(Disk 2 of 2)(Data)

and I guess the Extras Disc should be included and named as
AMOS The Creator v1.1 Extras Disc (1990)(Mandarin - Jawx)
since it doesn't seem to be included in all packages.

Let me know if you want me to up the adf dumps.
