WinUAE 1.0.0 Bugs!
Bug 1 :
- After switching back to WinUAE, and moving the mouse painter on the amiga screen it leaves marks on the screen. (Picasso 96 , Direct , 800*600 85 Hz , 16 bit). Bug 2 : After switching back to WinUAE, the keyboard doesn't work perfectly. After pushing a key on the keyboard, WinUAE think's I'm pushing it continuously, the key ruts. Pushing the same key again, it comes out. Bug 3 : The config files are for ver 1.0.0. Push F12, and make some double clicks on the configs, WinUAE freezes after a short time. Bug 4 : WinUAE freezes after switchin resolution during emulation. For example: a demo is running, I switch to 1024 from 800, by pressing F12. It doesn't freeze at all switch. Bug 5 : The picture is wrong after switching back to WinUAE, except in PAL OpenGL mode. http://amigasys.fw.hu/1/video.jpg Bug 6 : After exiting winuae, pointing on XP progs, they doesn't work, after minimizing them they work parfectly. By the way, the symptoms you are describing are more likely to a xp internal problem than a winuae problem. Reinstall xp and try again.

Hi,
I'm also having a similar problem with v1.0.0: Bug 2 : Rutting keys. 'Can't say I've had any of the other problems - bad luck. In my case: 'Fairly hacked about copy of OS3.9 BB2+. Installed onto NTFS directory structure. WinXP SP2, again quite hacked+patched up with varous bits. Symptoms: Os3.9 boots as I would expect, but I noticed any software has big issues with input (keys or joypad) sticking/autorepeating/not accepting any input @ random. When I open a console window from WB to check this I've got the same ruting problem as above. Also occ it's a while ( seconds ) before any input is recognised, even when there is no rutting. Nothing else within AmigaOS, WinUAE or XP seems to be misbehaving. The exact same setup ran fine with previous versions of WinUAE. I've made new UAE config files from scratch in case of incompatabiliaties. Fresh installs of 3.1, AIAB 10.5, 3.9, and AmigaSYS 2.0 all do the same thing. In all respects that I can measure my install of XP is completely healthy. I've booted XP without any extraneous software to avoid any conflicts - no go. 'Not tried in safe mode yet. 'Had past difficulties running WinUAE in safe mode. The really odd thing is that I now get the same problem when using older WinUAE exe's that previously had given me no trouble. Could the problem be with one of the dll's that come with WinUAE 1.0.0 as I've not tried to change these back to versions that came with older UAE's? I must test this. Also I've got AmigaForever 6.0 installed elsewhere which gave no previous trouble - must try it again... I've not included my default config file or startup/user-startup as I've probably taken up enough space and so far changing these has made no difference. I'll put them in another post if requested. I hope this helps someone to get to the bottom of this 'bug'. My thanks in advance for any help as I'm presently without a usable 'Amiga'. Charlie P.S. I'm a bit of a psychic don't you know. (Just one of my super-powers) Some Predictions: 1) I predict that on 23.5.2008 one of the mods will start a thread asking what our first posts were - SUPRISE!!! 2) On that date there STILL won't be any new Amiga hardware, an updated offical OS will not be available for the masses, and despite this Bill McEwan will still claim to be in charge of Amiga.inc! 3) My favorite cat will now be paraplaegic - Sometimes I hate having these special powers! 4) Oh, and #14 will be my lucky number for the day. Just when you think you're getting the hang of something, egg on the face again! You're quite right I tried your suggestion & all is well again. Thanks v. much. It worries me to think that you (among others) have gone to the trouble of writing this wonderful emulator that keeps me in happy Amiga land & I'm too dumb to work out how to use it properly. Thanks again for your efforts & help. Charlie P.S. Next time I'll just try to predict the answer... Last edited by Charlie; 27 May 2008 at 15:46. Reason: no I didn't! |

It's time someone sat with Mr Wilen and wrote a proper guide to setting up and using WinUAE
Okay the more complex features might be missed, but all the basics would be covered!! Maybe a future issue of APoV would have such a feature (hint hint Cody) |

Bug report again
Bug 1 : - After switching back to WinUAE, and moving the mouse painter on the amiga screen it leaves marks on the screen. (Picasso 96 , Direct , 800*600 85 Hz , 16 bit). This Pictures BUG 1 : (Not fixed new RTG lib and new NVIDIA driver ) http://amigasys.fw.hu/1/001.gif http://amigasys.fw.hu/1/002.gif http://amigasys.fw.hu/1/003.gif Bug 3 : The config files are for ver 1.0.0. Push F12, and make some double clicks on the configs, WinUAE freezes after a short time. Plus: Start your config and press f12 and Load config , add one HDF file , and push start button crash
WinUAE freezes after switchin resolution during emulation. For example: a demo is running, I switch to 1024 from 800, by pressing F12. It doesn't freeze at all switch.

Charlie, if possible, don´t use previous configs in newer versions of winuae.
If you have updated to 1.0, just create again the config, and most of the problems should dissapear. It worked for me. |

Dary, i had the same glitches before installed the rtg.library. Just replace it with the newer library and the glitches should disappear.

Sadly, I'm ashamed to say, this time I was caught out by a feature I didn't understand & went looking for non-existant bugs. Last edited by Charlie; 18 June 2005 at 20:06. |

Also there seem to be problems with CPU & Memory settings. Sometimes those don't get set at all after loading a configuration and sometimes even after changing those values and clicking start the system will boot with 0MB Z3-Fast.. Checking the settings then also shows that the value is not set.
