A3000 Setup in WinUAE.. Please help

I have a friend with an A3000 that has a Dead Drive I he ordered the Acard so it should be here anyday now. I told him he can have one of my old PC drives (100G). I'm trying to get this setup for him before his Acard arrives. Would like it to be plugnplay. (I know its a wish.) So I'm tryin to emulate the system exactly as he has it

A3000 Desktop
030 25Mhz
2Mb Chip
4Mb Fast
Xserf
2.04 Rom (trying to do Kickstart trick to 3.1)

Don't know what else to say about the system as I've always been a fan of the A1200.

I am doing a fresh load of CWBV26 with 3.1 Disks. Trying to emulate the Devs:Kickstart thing and its not working. Does Uae not work this way? Should I just leave it there and expect the real system to find it while the emulated one dosn't?

I'm going to do a Loadmodule scsi.device with te BB2 update scsi.device to get large HD support. Any help that will make this smoother is appreciated.

With WinUAE you can just use the kickstart in your config. Copy the file from Devs:Kickstarts to your WinUAE 'System ROMs' path and rescan them. Then just use it for your config.

I also Need Drivers for his Xserf card. Don't know more than that. Just need to be in there he will know what to do with them.

Also when I partition this drive in PFS35 do I make the partition DH0 or is Scsi Different?

So is there any one that knows how to make the kick to 3.1 work?

try using relokick to boot into 3.1 .. I think its the cats ass.. i am sure there is a ways to use it in your start up sequence to boot into 3.1 as well.

I'm going to see what happens with the soft kick I can't believe no one has put a larger HD in an A3000 before.

36 gig on my a3k and i don't think i've even used 2 gigs lol

36 gig scsi 3 hard drive, scsi 3 to scsi 1 adapter, scsi terminator.. works great.. some say i needed a high byte terminator but drive has no errors and worked great for the last year with no probs. I have 4 gig partions with 3.1 and in 3.9 i get 8 gig partions.. 3.9 to slow with it being stock so went back to 3.1 and works great! It has been a whdload dream. And used relokick to boot some 1.3 games that didn't like 3.1 .

So your using the scsi.device from the bb2 update? And do you have 3.1 roms or are you softkicking it to 3.1?

i do have 3.1 roms, but there is no reason why you can't softkick into 3.1 from 2.x.. well besides legal reasons i suppose I used scsi prefs also to delay my startup to allow spin up time for the hard drive also. In clasic WB there is the updated scsi.device for the a3000 I used. I forget what version that is. I think i updated it also.. I will look after work.

He actully has a broken a3000 tower with 3.1 roms and says they don't don't fit the board. So I guess he has the roms just to the exact ones he needs. Guess the softwares the same though.
