I have a question about x86 emu in WinUAE

Some time ago a few of x86 emulation boards were added to WinUAE.
I would like to know more about it, so here are my questions:
-What are the usage scenarios for them?
-What advantages do they give?

My questions could sounds silly, but I would like to know more about this subject.
I am not sure if I wrote that proper, because English is not my native language.

I am not sure if there are any real advantages...

For me it was fun to experiment with quite strange and special hardware that sort of managed to make Amiga and PC sides to work together.

If you only want to run normal PC programs: use normal PC emulator (dosbox etc). Don't bother with bridgeboards.

I have another question: did the bridgeboards work actually helped to fix some amiga related emulation bugs?

I agree with Toni. IMO they are just for fun and experimentation. When I do legacy x86/DOS emulation I use DOSBox, it has sound card support and is way faster and easier than getting stuff running under WinUAE. (You don't need to fiddle around with installing MS-DOS and such).

I remember in the old days i had a KCS PowerPC Board, it was a 512k ram expansion for the Amiga 500 but also at the same time a PC 8086 emulator or something like that, the expansion card had it's own battery. even back then it was "kind of" fun to mess around with it, but nothing else.

Anyway seeing from the latest WinUAE releases, there are all kinds of "boards" being added. so i guess in another 2 years WinUAE will be a Amiga emulator with almost all the boards included (with exception of the board ROMS, i can only imagine how much space that would take)

It is true what they say, but having a full emulation would be nicer, even if just for fun, be able to install and start Win3.11 and Win95 It would be a great achievement.
