New Kickstart ROM Switcher (Automatic)

We have just manufactured a new batch of automatic Kickstart ROM switchers for the Amiga 500, 500+, 600, 1500, 2000 and CDTV:

The Kickstart ROMs are selected by holding down reset (Ctrl-Amiga-Amiga keys) for 5 seconds. No case modification or cutting/soldering required. No manual switches required.

Direct product link:

We ship worldwide.

Nice.

One question, why does it have LED's on it when it lives deep inside your Amiga?

I guess it is "Because we like LED's!"

Cause I loves em, .

Nah, they are great for testing purposses. Means I know which kickstart its on, . Someone might want the same kickstart in there. Bit like a dual bios as it were, lol.

Plus im sure some people here will find a way to wire them into some other place, .

interesting, but what mainboard revision does it require for an A500? I have an manual one but it requires rewiring due to rev5 board and despite that I never got it to work.

RE: ROM Switcher - Can I use a 1.3 ROM out of an A500 and put it in an A600?

I am guessing yes as I don't think there was a specific A600 1.3 ROM

Thanks, I've seen that. It looks super cool
But I can not find it in available items. So... my question for AmigaKit still stands

The switcher would look a lot better getting rid of the cable and mounting it on top of the ROM socket and setting the roms on 90 degree or something, kinda like the CPU adapter i done to relocate the fastmem board, could be set up easily with jumpers for a500/a600 rom socket

Well... since it seems that AmigaKit is no longer interested in switchers, perhaps this could be a project for "Magic Fingers" Kipps An improved version would be welcome and a definite purchase for me.

There is no need for one for enthusiasts. Just use a single 27C800 and a three pole switch. It was one of Kipper2k's first posts.

True
I always appreciate alexh's help, but this is not that easy to make.
An elegant, automatic solution would be most welcome.

Course it is. All you need is an EPROM, a switch, and three wires.
