There are no clairvoyants sitting here. You should really give some information to analyse about your PC, Windows, WinUAE version, WinUAE settings, AmigaOS version, AmigaOS settings, screenmode etc.

hmmm, Dpaint 5, long time ago, must go back into the dim and distant past...
have you installed the DPaint font? is it an original / copy or cracked version? if original or copy, have you got the serial number? 12642205EA593355 or 12642205EA633570 I hope your running in AGA mode for DPaint 5 last question... Why bother... grab TVPaint, it's free and alot better than DPaint, erm come to think of it, so is Perfect Paint, Personal Paint (maybe not better but free)... |

the reason I like DPaint is coz I`m so use to it`s hot keys and the way it works, TV Paint sounds good, is it simular to DPaint? I never knew it was free - I think I`ll give it a go. Thanks for the tip Severin.
For those not gifted in the psychic department; I have winUAE with A1200, 020 fpu. ;-) James PS my reason for not being so non descriptive in the first place was that I`d been having trouble with signing on here (my browser was refusing to except cookies or something) I`ve now sorted it but I posted thinking that it probably never would have worked again, after all I`ve been typing the same message over and over again. I`m sorry for this and I`ll try to be more informative next time. Thanks again. |

TVPaint is NOTHING like DPaint, it's 24 bit only, fast, easy to use, I use it the most, closly followed by PPaint (for GUI's and Icons)... If you are more used to photoslop, try ArtEffect 4 or FXPaint, ArtEffect works in much the same way as Photoslop but without the bloat and at a fraction of the price... |

Deluxe Paint don't work in Picasso96 modes (at least older versions), make sure you select native screen mode (PAL:xxx or NTSC:xxx).

Brilliance II tries to work, but it uses overlapping screens for it's drawing/menu areas, and is a complete PITA to use, I may be wrong it was 7 years ago that I last tried to run it... P96 naffs Brilliance II up even on native screens (I think they used some direct hardware hits the p96 obviously can't sort out. A pity it was a great paint program, much better than DPaint 5 |

Hi,
I tried TVPaint and it's definately better then deluxe paint but there's some update problems when using the "line tool"- i get white trails of pixels(comming from the top of the cursor) when dragging a line, this doesn't happen with the "pen tool" and also doesn't happen when in a zoom window. Is this an emulation problem or is it my config? -config- chip:2mb fast:8mb z3-fast:16 rtg:16 kick 3.1 68040 (the same with 68020+FPU) JIT cache: 8MB 800x600 16bit fullscreeen RTG doubled filter: enabled(null filter) AGA |

hmmm, I have no idea, I use it on a real Amiga...
-config- chip:2mb fast:8mb <- erm why? fast is for older ecs emu if you really want some keep it to a minimum for those badly written programs that look at 0x20000... z3-fast:16 <- 32 would be better rtg:16 <- 4 is about all you need, maybe 8 at the most... kick 3.1 68040 (the same with 68020+FPU) JIT cache: 8MB <- erm, dunno, not got jit on the uae I use... 800x600 16bit fullscreeen RTG doubled <- try without the doubled bit... filter: enabled(null filter) AGA |
