I don't suppose that packer exists anymore ?

Big grin beyond dark castle and other games.

I have a list of games I need to be found in one of the CAPS project packets, or I need to know how to break the copy protection on them, because I'm more or less a newbie to this stuff.

Beyond Dark Castle
Dark Castle
One on One with Larry Bird and Dr J
Lemmings NTSC version
Shadow of the Beast II NTSC version

I have a limited ability to use the Shell so if it requires a manual hacking job, I would appreciate the advice, just bear in mind I may need a full blown tutorial, lol.

I have disk copying programs: Marauder II and XCopy Professional, so if you know how to use those, lemme know. I want to dump them to ADF format via Amiga Explorer. I have games that the CAPS project have on their most wanted list so I want to help them out.

You won't help caps with adf's.
Also they just take original games, completely(!) unmodified (not even highscore) and with copyprotection. Everything else is useless for them.
You'll have to use the software they provide to make copies of the disks.
(BTW: This software doesn't provide files which can directly be used in WinUAE.)

And what about Player Manager games? Haven't seen any of those with WHD Loader.

For example, Player Manager 2 Extra for AGA machines. As far as I am aware, it wasn't WHDLoad-ized. And I couldn't find propper cracked version for YEARS.

Err.... corrections

1). Player Manager is going through bug testing
2). The Fairlight version of Player Manager 2 Extra AGA is absolutely 1000% cracked properly.

Double Dragon 2 is way and above harder than most copy protections. Quite a few people have a problem with easier ones, so a tutorial gradually bringing up peoples skills would be better than hitting people with that one.

DD2 is a daunting prospect for most people.

I remember reading things about most games of Steve Bak's being awfully difficult to crack properly, a long time ago... full of programming tricks that made any cracker's life sort of a Hell !

Non

It was because Codetapper and JOTD didn't know how the Copylock protection was implemented into the game.

The Copylock protection was used to decrypt the level data. The serial key for the valid original disk was used to decode the data, otherwise Magic Pockets wouldn't work.

Without bragging, I didn't find it that difficult. I think I gave it back to Jeff and Ian a couple of hours after I got it.

Like I've said before, one protection for one person will be hard and for someone else easy (or easier). Its been a long time since I've done an Interpreter protection, in fact, Jeff has probably more experience than me in this area.

However, Daemonsburg or Daemonsgate or whatever it was has taken you over 2 years and still hasn't been released so don't brag too much!
