He was also woking on another isometric view game which I think was being previewed in CU Amiga or something around the time that CBM went bust,didn't he?

John Jones-Steele is now one of the Company Directors for Broadsworth. According to the bio I read on him, in his listed game credits, Alfred Chicken CD32 is the only one mentioned (in other words, not the A1200 version). The plot thickens.

I just got the Alfred Chicken box in my mail. The label says:

Enhanced version for AGA machines
Requires A1200/A4000

The box contains 2 game disks, both says A1200/A4000

Looks like the mystery is solved then!
