One missing feature that I'd like to do: Cirrus Logic GD542x/5446 SVGA support, Windows and DOS via VBE BIOS.

Both most likely need memory mapped IO (Currently only VGA IO and memory is mapped) which already exists in CL emulation. Should be simple enough..

Ciao Toni, i do not know if it depends on my system, i noticed that "WinUAE PCem Core" he can not: Mount Floppy 1.44 (PC0) and can not Format Floppy PC0 1.44, you can see the error on first screenshot.


With WinUAE 4.1.0 b6 everything works fine

I notice you are using Janus 2.1 BB SW and the Janus library and Janus handler are connected properly in your setup (based on the BIOS boot output pics you posted earlier in this thread. For some reason I have always had trouble getting the handler and library to work properly in Janus 2.1. BB boots and PC side works fine, just can't use any Amiga <-> PC services that rely on handler like Jdisk or file transfer utils. I can get it to work in Janus 2.0 no problem. I've tried with WinUAE beta and stable various versions, OS 1.3 and 2.0, different BB models, it never seems to work for me. Is there some trick you used to get it to work, or has it always just worked for you? What memory window are you setting in PCPrefs?

EDIT: I know the difference has something to do with your SW environment because when I substitute your A1060 Sidecar Monochrome HDD.hdf into my config, Janus handler and library are properly recognized.

Just for clarification, was the issue where there has to be a Z2 board init prior to BB with PC speaker enabled resolved, or is this still a required workaround? I still have to have a Z2 board (RAM or HD or something) above BB in autoconfig list for BB to work properly with PC speaker enabled.

Are you interested in looking at test case involving Janus 2.0 SW? I can open PC Mono window when I boot my HD image, but PC Color window silently freezes. If I boot from PC Install floppy, both PC Mono and PC Color work fine. I duplicated this behavior in most recent stable WinUAE 4.0.1.

Try the Janus 2.1 version.

Yes I have Janus 2.1 and have been testing with it as well. But I wanted to see if Toni was interested in looking at this issue with Janus 2.0, because even though 2.0 is older, it should still work. And I was curious if Toni had any ideas about why PC Color in Janus 2.0 crashes when booting from HD, but works from floppy.

Attatch/upload disk or HDF + config that crashes/has other problems. It needs to be 100% exact setup and files. Unknown variables = not interested.

I did upload a HDF, config, nvr, and ADF in previous post, Today at 01:55.

You can boot the HDf and confirm that PC Mono works and PC Color freezes. Then you can boot the PC Install adf and confirm that PC Color works. PC Color works if you run it from floppy or HD, so it's the boot environment, not the media, that affects whether it works or fails.

I mean, what else would you want Win95 for, other than installing old WinUAE 0.8 or thereabouts?

To run WinUAE 0.8, in Win95 on a bridgeboard in current WinUAE on Windows 10
