hmmmmmmmmm

I hope this does not take too much of IFW's time away from the Amiga!

Me either, but if it brings us any closer to the point where they're able to produce working IPF's from some of the good dumps they have that were dual format, mfm, etc., then that will be good for the Amiga folks too.

Well spotted x_to.

It is actually *necessary* for the Amiga since the main games that are not yet preserved are those that are dual-format, or are stored in a PC/ST disk format. Also remember that we are running out of Amiga games to do!

But the main point is that we *can* do other systems, and therefore we will.

Don't expect any results soon though.

Don't get me wrong - I believe in what the guys are doing (I have after all contributed quite a large number of games). I'd just hate to see their talents split in too many competing directions.

What the CAPS, sorry SPS, team needs is more people that have the talent and commitment displayed by the current team.

Its okay! I knew what you meant

As it happens, we have discussed doing exactly that. Probably in the form of a "system leader" that is responsible for looking after things to do with a particular system. Especially when it becomes more widespread.

Anyway, I'm off for two weeks, so just ask Interceptor if you have any queries.

Bleh...
I will still say "CAPS", as it also pronounces like "cap(ital)s". SPS has no vowels anymore, and hence looks like "yet another software company", as almost all of their names consist of 3 letters.
Better let CAPS stay as an easy-to-remember (and now well-established!) name for the Amiga community, and - if you insist - call the rest SPS (pfff ).

yet again the Amiga has gone from instrumental to fast being merely a part

but never in this corner of the world...

Or you could have CAPS-PC; CAPS-Mac; CAPS-C64 etc..

Fiath - there's a small typo on the new front page:

"Due to the shear number" -> "Due to the sheer number"

you can dump them now, but only 3.5" DD disks for now. (same as amiga)

we'll look into HD disks, but we dont have an amiga HD drive at the moment to play with.

right down the bottom:

If and when dumping 5.25" disks becomes a possibility, I have tons of original Apple II software that could be dumped, assuming I can put together the required hardware to dump them.

dumping 5.25" disks requires amiga 5.25" drives. which do exist, but are quite rare.

however a slight "feature" in the dumping tool currently prevents you from dumping them. which will be fixed soon-ish.
