No RAM will not add much speed to the system. Put a single 4Mb GVP special SIMM on it and watch the Amiga flying!
Notice the GVP SIMM units are expensive as hell! |

I think Amigakit (UK) & Software Hut (USA) have the GVP SIMM on sale.
Failing that, Amibay is the place to ask for one. Be prepared to pay some absurd cash for a 4Mb stick. |

If the card has an original battery onboard then chances are the battery is dead, however, that shouldn't prevent the Amiga from seeing it. most help i could offer is to clean the edge terminals and try inserting it bit by bit and try to see if it gets recognised |

the battery original is ok, 3 volt, but is a battery special with internal chip and communication with one wire and are very rare.
sorry for my bad english, the board are not recognised from a1200, i suppose fail autoconfig, the a1200 detect only 68030 |

Do a check on this page: http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/gvp1230mk2
The Jaws II needs an installation disk, so it don't have full autoconfig capabilities. The image of the disk is on the link. |

GVP 4 Meg SIMM.
Hi cpiac64,
I have the same Accelerator with 2 x 4 Meg GVP SIMMs installed into an A1200 rev 1 D 4. My Jaws Mk2 runs OK with Workbench 3 and 3.1 on ver 3 ROMs without any extra software. This system is On-Line using a PCMCIA WiFi card and I chat and mail as well use it as a WHDLoad system. I am not using the SCSI card. The clock battery is built into the clock unit as one part. I have a spare GVP 4 meg SIMM you can have. I can post it if you want it ? PM me please if you would like to have the GVP SIMM. That`s the best help I can give you. Regards, Michael aka rockape |
