Maximum Hard Drive Size Limit On A Cyberstorm MK3

Hey Yo!

Might replace my current 30GB hard drive on my current Amiga 4000 setup. I was wondering what is the maximum size hard drive you can use on a Cyberstorm MK3?

Regards

Don't know if it can go over LBA 48 but at least 137/128 GB works.

There is no LBA 48 in SCSI. SCSI has LBA 21, 32 and 64.

I don't know if the 64 bit command is supported by the CSMKIII, but it does not matter anyway because HDToolbox and probably all other similar tools are limited to 2 TB (2^32 * 512 bytes).

i am thinking about using a 80pin hard drive via a 66pin to 80pin adapter! would this work too? as 80pin hard drives seem to be much cheaper!

cheers

SE = single ended (vs. LVD, low voltage differential...) Best to check the jumpers.

The drives autonegotiate more often than not. (so called LVD/SE drives)

What's not cross compatible are HVD (High Voltage Differential) devices. Not very common.
