Which Amiga game offers the most for the byte?

I think it is Turrican II. Just one disk (if you managed to have the original) that contains a long intro with lots of pictures, a legendary soundtrack, a very long game that even contains a shoot'em'up in world 3.

I think those are very well-spent 880kb or is there any other game that is even more space-efficient than Factor 5's opus magnum?

Magic Pockets. Intro with animations & cover soundtrack, 4 worlds, around 30 levels, a lot of enemies with different behaviours & various bonuses with different effects.

Not even using 12-sector per track format.

It's actually significantly bigger than 880kb. That's why the cracks were 2 disks.

It's hardly impressive that a simple football game with very little graphics data, no leveldata, and no soundtrack requires 2 disks, when Turrican 2 fits on 1, is it?

I'd go with Frontier as well.
It's even more impressive than you might think because it doesn't even use all of the disk

For me, it was Carrier Command. The cracked version I had was literally a couple hundred Kb on the disk iirc, which having just come from a Speccy was jaw-dropping. The sheer depth of that game was stunning.

I dont think games like Frontier should count for this. Of course they are amazing games but the worlds are procedurely generated and its unfair to compare it to sprite based games in my opinion

Depth? Ok, but I quit playing after I saw the enemy carrier sailing across dry land. By the way, the original uncracked edition contains streamed audio on the rest of the floppy! Impressive!

Being a poor teenager, I never had the original.

As for depth, it was amazing. Setting up supply lines, planning repairs, assaulting islands and taking them for myself from under the nose of the enemy carrier... I loved it. I'd never played anything like it before, and must have spent months in that game.

Game is not only a box of Graphics and music. There is many other things

I quite agree. The scope and depth was staggering.

There was quite a lot to see and do in James Pond 2 Robocod. Quite a lot of variation in the levels, vehicles, and graphics. That level made out of jelly where you bounce all over the place and the one with on the train were memorable. Generally the levels were quite big and not that repetitive. The bathtub. The bosses. I feel they packed a lot of ideas in there.
The only thing is they could have done with a few more tunes.
