hard? only the first battle is hard, you have to stick there the longer you can to improve your guys without get killed. without cheat i ended the game (or not ended) with ppl so strong that the stat counter got screwed and they could not lift the most light weight object!
btw it is a great game

I gave up with this game on radioactive cave. If I remember correctly I should rescue kid from that cave fighting with lycons but it was too hard to stay alive with all party members. Great game for sure.

This game is beautiful, but linear and very easy, as long as you use the correct character classes and spells:

- ammo for range combat are limited, so don't rely on them too heavily, but do train your sharpshooters if you have them, specially to keep at a distance the more monstrous enemies

- Uranium Warp (sphere I think), Aura Dispersion (field), one spell decreasing spellcasters abilities (as sphere) and/or one decreasing perception (as field) if you want to grind during combat (because you lower the ability to insta-kill you of your enemies, and finally a couple of restorative spells are all you need for your magic users

- of your characters, two should be dedicated spellcasters (anchorites, psionics), one half caster half sharpshooter or half caster / half melée fighter, one tank, one jack of all trades

- radiation resistance is important when choosing races (at least for a couple of characters)

- don't rush into kill all enemies, but leave one or two at a distance, to grind, even if only walk (boosts morale and speed) just don't overdo it: if you exceed 250 points into any skill, it screws the character
