I played the demo, some nice casual fun

I picked up Wasteland Angel recently.

I have come across so many great discounts on Steam for both Indie and Mainstream devs/pubs that I can't count.

I'm actually starting to run out of room on my 2TB Gaming RAID Array now, nearing only 400GB free with the Steam folder taking up about 1.2TB of that capacity

Well on average a (mainstream) game takes 10-12gb nowadays, so you can still install quite a few of them before you start to have to use the "delete local content" option that Steam has

complex data structures, high resolution/quality assets and a bit of lazy programming

I'm pretty sure the 2GB is just a default "I don't know what it really is" template value, probably the game will work just fine with 1GB of memory.

Yeah, i can easily make a bad PC game that needs tonnes of memory, just have a looping sequence here and some poor room designing there.

Actually I think if you really try you'll find it is hard to do "What? Its still only using a 100MB of memory!?!? But I'm procedurally generating an entire planet!"

I've been giving Post Apocalyptic Mayhem some playtime.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/91900/?snr=1_4_4__13

Somehow this game just doesn't draw me in, even though the concept behind the game really appeals me (arcade racing + death and destruction). What does Supercars 2 do better than this one (other than being 2D)? I can't really say.

Probably a whole lot more fun with friends of course.

[Shameless attempt at promotion]
I know a really good indie game thats in the works!

[/Shameless attempt at promotion]

Anyway, I haven't seen that many which have caught my eye lately. Played a bit of Terraria, but it feels empty and very repetitive, takes ages to do anything, and once you do it, it's not very satisfying. At least in Minecraft it takes ages to do anything, but it looks damn cool when you're done. Only thing i felt Terraria had over Minecraft is that its half the price at the moment.

Keeping my eye on Steam's daily offers to see if any good indie games come up cheap.

just wanted to give the tip that Super Meat Boy is on a 50% discount this weekend on Steam, so if you were thinking about getting it now would be the time I did!

Also apparently there is going to be a Trine 2 soon which is going to be nice and cheap right from the start, just like the first one. It looks really colorful and it has a nice coop mode too.

Super Meat Boy is one of the best platformers I've played, so naturally I also highly recommend getting that!
It's one of those rare games that does get really tough and yet manages not to get very frustrating... it's quality through and through!

I'd get the boxed version, though... has a cool box that looks great on the shelf (if you get the big box with the T-shirt, anyway), and a really cool comic/manual with lots of little tidbits and funny stuff.

Super Mario Brothers
Super Meat Boy
SMB

Coincidence or intentional?

Its quite a neat game for "in between", but to me it is no more than that either. The style and especially music are absolutely ace, but the concept of a level being completed in mere seconds doesn't really appeal to me. I'm the careful exploration type, as soon as I'm forced to move through a level at neck breaking speed I get pissed off. Needless to say, I'm Super Meat Boy's bitch

My reaction was the opposite, I really ended up loving the short but challenging levels... so much so that I ended up finishing the game 100%, and I hardly ever bother doing that in games normally.

Would like to add my first iOS indie game "Cyber Spheres"
69p from App Store, I'll start a thread in OT - Gaming where you can get some free download codes. This is my first Apple game but I'm thinking to try and port some of my older Amos/Blitz games too.

Steam informed me that there is -finally- a new update to Terraria.

http://www.terrariaonline.com/thread...-update.70447/

Mostly bugfixes and a nice Christmas overhaul. I think I'll play it again from scratch around the holidays

There was a Terraria 1.1 patch released about 15 days ago, added about 60 new enemies and a load of other stuff.

EDIT: Also surprised that Terraria isn't on the Xbox 360 marketplace, as it's made with the same program that Xbox 360 Indie Games use.

Perhaps they are aiming for an XBLA license? Just seems like a wasted opportunity for them, seeing as it's already programmed for an Xbox 360. Only thing they'd have to change is the network coding for XBL and the controls for an Xbox 360 controller.

Wow, Skydrift looks really slick!

http://store.steampowered.com/app/91100/

Something I have always really liked, a racing game where you fly - I have good memories of multiplayer sessions in Sleamstream 5000 for example. And of course rockets included for added dogfighting pleasure

Its an indie game but you could have fooled me, really great looking!
