I’ve been tuning the difficulty for a couple of weeks.
Martin is full speed on the music.
Stefan has been tweaking the attract mode.
1942 is a difficult game. Many a fine port has been ruined by testers complaining about difficulty...

Indeed, it would be sad that a fine port could be ruined by the difficulty.
If it's the same as the coin-up arcade game i think it can be fine.
as we said sometimes : wait and see

Toaplan "Hellfire": could have been a good shooter, just too hard.

Just use the same enemy logic as the arcade please! Back in the days I completed it in the arcades but it took a lot of coins to master it. It's as if today gamers don't understand what early arcade games were all about: simple but challenging!

Well you’ll just have to wait and see.
We’re not talking about random people but experienced testers.

Collision detection has been loosened a bit, closer to how it works on the arcade.
Some enemies moved too fast, and have been slowed down.

Spent last month on Easter vacation and finetuning Zero patterns, firing algorithm etc.
Fixed second button code, so 2 button joystick and CD32 pad should work.
On very fast machines there would be graphics glitches, which are now fixed.

Still some work tbd on the music side.

Meanwhile…
We decided to do a complete rework of green zero patterns to get closer to the arcade feel.
That work is being done now.

These delays are annoying we understand. There will be a chance to play something soon, while we complete the game.

No stress agermose, know full well that making a faithful port is massively time consuming, even more than I anticipated!

Pretty sure this is going to be spot on when its done

Unless you have permission from Capcom, I would be extremely cautious with releasing any version of the game together with something that people have to pay for. With Capcom, Nintendo, etc. it is best to fly under the radar...

Should be okay provided the entire game isn't on the coverdisk, though you never know.

Id would be quite suprised if any action was taken over a demo snippet.

Anyway, the game feels AWESOME! Really good job on this, smooth as butter and not too brutal in difficulty either.

Btw the game fixes 2 “issues” that always bothered me on the arcade.
One of them is in the demo.
Can anyone find it

you should make your game downloadable from itch.io for free. And people can still donate 2, 5 or more euros/dollars.

Exactly... excuse my ignorance, but what's the point of a demo version that will be seen by only a handful of people that buy that magazine? Amiga community is not that huge anyway... and the game is (probably?) gonna be free in the end anyway... ?
