It will be absolutely OK for your A1200, for all modes except those new @ 31 KHz.
It was one of the best (if not THE best) monitors available for Amigas, back in the day. I used it a lot with my A500 and now I'm using it with my A600HD. |

Cos they are feckin expensive? £200+ vs £10 for an old CM8833
(Assuming that is the monitor he meant? Don't think there is a CM833) |

yeah sure, but for the eyes its not so expensive IMO.. Since i got my first external eyetech scandoubler in 98 (or about) i never looked back...
But for sure, its much more expensive. |

Depends if you use an interlaced screen mode a lot.
In lowres non interlace (the resolution games use), the persistence of the phosphor on those old monitors means the 50Hz refresh rate is not a problem on the eyes. Not for me anyhow. |

Thanks, yeah that's the future plan but am sure the monitor will produce a better display than the portable telly i'm using lol

ck1200, if you check this thread... CLICK HERE You will see that I was lucky enough to pick up one of these monitors pretty cheap, you can also read about some Scart cables that work with it... my CM8833 is still going strong and it is an excellent monitor - I have an Indivision in my A1200 now but the CM8833 gets used for my PSOne, MegaDrive and My A600

I used to have a Philips CM8833-II and it was a great monitor until it gave up recently (after many years of gaming abuse ). The only thing i hated about mine were the coloured blocks printed on the casing (it was the artist series version).

Most schools I knew had A3000's. They were the ones with the BBC Owl on it.
But perhaps you're younger than me |
