MFM drives are junk; avoid them at all costs. Whoever pulled the MFM controller from your machine deserves what he got. They're hideously outdated (and not in a cool way, either). Also avoid the A2090A; mine put me through so much pain thanks to it's propensity to simply not fucking work at all that I smashed it into a million pieces and got a nice shiny new SCSI controller off eBay.
I mean seriously, that thing was horrible. The SCSI portion simply didn't work and the MFM portion was nowhere near worth the effort. The 2090 may be the single worst SCSI controller ever designed for any platform(256MB drive size limit? NO removeable media of any kind? SIGN ME UP), so bad that Commodore's engineers eventually apologized for unleashing it on the world. |

Yeah well it does seem to not have may fans. I don't have any hugh desire to use it I was just curious to know what is on it. If I coudl find a way of transfering the data I'd forget about it. I don't suppose there is a way though...
