I have not been keeping track of who owns Amiga these days.

indeed jmmijo.
Who holds the rights for WB? (1.3 to 3.1)
Who the hardware?
Who the new OS?
But most inportend. Are the rights for the old (1200) hardware still active?

Amiga Inc. owns the rights to the OS, now does this include *all* versions, I would think yes but I'm not certain of that

The hardware most likely was previously owned by Gateway, back then they were called Gateway 2000 when they purchased it. I do beleive they sold off the OS rights to Amiga Inc. sometime after the purchase of the Amiga technology.

I'm sure somebody has more info on the hardware rights then I do so they can update us all with this info.

Amiga Inc. owns...

1. the trademarks ("Amiga", Boingball, Checkmark...)
2. AmigaOS (all versions up to 3.x, Hyperion owns AmigaOS 4.x for now)
3. all hardware designs (the "Walker" and "AmigaMCC" prototype case designs have been sold to "Merlancia" a while ago)

Amiga Inc. has a licence to use the Amiga related patents which are still owned by Gateway. These patents are pretty much useless now and the last ones expire end of this year IIRC.

Hyperion has a license to develop, market and distribute AmigaOS4. Eyetech has a license to develop, market and distribute "AmigaOne" computers.
