Beavis CDs
I've kept seeing the odd mention of this on the board - would love to learn more myself but Google fails so dismally at life when it comes to this subject. I assume this is another BBS set - are they available anywhere atm?

I've got the Beavis CD's somewhere, just have no clue where, or you could ask Carlo (Dr.Bong) as I'm sure he has them.

I think the question is not "Who has these?" but "What are they?", since this thread is not in the Reqs. subforum.

Sooooooooo..... how's the Beavis rescue plan coming along Bippy?
Pretty confident that despite me asking everyone (including myself) has spent a lot of time in the sun instead! |

Beavis CD's
I do know a bit about the Beavis CD's. It was a 4 disk set that was available around 2000 in one of the warez chat rooms from Beavis. Beavis was from Canada. He later added a 5th disk to his set. It had some of the bigger games like Dune and others. I have all 5 disks some place, but no longer have the Amigas I used to have. I had a 500, 600, 1200, and another that I cannot remember the number of it. Maybe 1000?
There were 1000's of games on the disks and almost all of them would work on at least one of the Amigas I had. I did not know at the time just what a bot was for, but the hackers in the chat room had wars with each other through the bots. It was fun to watch. Firebird, Mech, you guys still around? |

I have all 5 Beavis CDs as ISO files and will happily upload them somewhere if they are useful to others. I am not sure if people prefer every file uploaded individually so they can be grabbed, or ISO images of the whole lot? Let me know!

@Ian
I can't believe no-one has upped these yet to the EAB FTP. I can scan a few of the original CD labels too if anyone's massively interested. I got the warez CDs direct from Beavis way back when we used to hang out on #amigawarez on Galaxynet IRC and still have them. Steven was a nice guy and probably the only dude I knew to have a CD burner back in the 90s when they were exorbitantly expensive. I remember buying the first few CDs (they weren't cheap buying them individually - US$30-40 each IIRC!), and then getting the last couple as freebies for supplying a few of the cracks he was chasing. They were hugely popular game CDs and well-compiled, with lots of AGA fixes that aren't in TOSEC and a bunch of trainers that are nowhere to be found on the net or on other compilation CDs. I prefer ISOs, easier to download and with today's bandwidth should not be too difficult for all to leech
