Usual practice is to leave your site up while you do all your dev and test in the background on a copy of your system, then one reasonable outage where you move your changes to the running site.
This way seems silly. |

Just to update, it shouldn't be to much longer. I have spent alot of time on it and its almost there. Just in process of making sure everything is working and intact. Will have to re-integrate more stuff after we get the basics up and running.
